Lyrics for Faaip De Oiad as interpreted by Jondude11

Faaip De Oiad Lyrics
I, I don't have a whole lot of, of time. Um, OK, I'm a former employee of Area 51. I, I was let go on a medical discharge about a week ago and, and . . . I, I've kind of been runnin' across the country. Um, um, damn, I don't know where to start. They're, they're gonna, um, they'll triangulate on this position really really soon. OK, um, um, OK, what, what we're thinking of as, as aliens, uh, they're, they're extra-dimensional beings that an earlier precursor of the, um, space program they made contact with. Uh, they, they are not what they claim to be. Uh, they've infiltrated a lot of, uh, about a lot of aspects of, of, of the military establishment, particularly the Area 51. Uh, the, the disasters that are coming, they, the, the military, I'm sorry, the government knows about them. And, and there's a lot of safe areas in this world that they could begin moving the population to now. They are not! They want those major population centers wiped out so that the, the few that are left will be more easily controllable.

Jesus, I bought this album yesterday and decided to listen to it the whole way through before i went to bed.

the rest of the album passed and i sat, fascinated by the qualuty of the musicianship, then, however this track came on.

as i lay there on my bed, in the dark, at 1 o clock in the morning i swear i nearly shat myself!
Not only are the lyrics fuckin freaky but the musical accompaniment only serves to amplify the terror i was feeling!

Don't ever listen to this before going to sleep as it will give u nightmares- no doubt about it!

Lateralus more than cemented my philosophy and spiritual beliefs. The end track, even though it’s dramatic, let me know that others were thinking along the same lines. (Go Maynard!). I’m also glad that it was TOOL that brought this out. Let me try to explain how I think this all tied together

For some, this album can be an overload. It should be. The end track brings into focus what Schism*was warning against, the peril we face if we don’t start communicating (take that as you read it). (*Very reflexive of the Tower of Babel story, where ‘god(s)’ split us up and created new ‘tongues’ and we lost (took) our global tongue / and our ability to communicate) (See Timothy Leary’s ‘How to program your Mind’) Time is truly running out. But, Parabola sewed in the beginnings of how that energy can be turned inward, heal the self first, rebirth is not some hokey Christian ceremonial dunking, but a process, then ‘spiral out’ later, as was mentioned in ‘Lateralus.’ It would be tough to explain how the end track ties the album together, but it does make complete sense if you actively participate in this inner world and work towards global peace. There are ‘forces’ working against that peace, those mems of control are everywhere.

Yeah, I was actually writing a paper on the exact same subject(s). I know of others that love the album and it related to what we, as free thinkers, practiced and believed. It’s funny because I thought to myself, now if they had only mentioned the ‘alien/reptoid’ factor; it would have been extra icing. I about did cart wheels when this track played. It verified some of the things I had been seeing as a remote viewer and a student of the Occult. Once again, go TOOL for challenging others to think about these things, most people consider ‘junk’ or ‘new age B. S.’. If you think this was just an album, tell that to Maynard. I’m sure he’d say otherwise. But if you liked it, I did too. The end track was the ‘end game’ that made the album perfect for me. May the hairless apes win.

The voice-over on this song actually came from a September 12th, 1997 call to the Art Bell radio show, which broadcasts out of Nevada and entertains the notions all sorts of extraterrestrial and conspiracy theorists. It was quite a controversial call, as the station suddenly lost its signal for about two minutes during the call. Alas, the "disoriented" gentleman heard on the song called the show back a few days later to confirm that he had pulled off a delicious hoax. His words are still quite frightening in the context of Faiip de Oiad, though, don't you think?

From my research, the best meaning I can extract for "Faiip de Oiad" is that it is Enochian for "Voice of God." An interesting (and fitting) ending to an absolute masterpiece of an album.

"Faaip De Oiad" means the Voice of God in Latin or some closely related language. This track was taken from an Art Bell caller (a long-running late night radio program about the paranormal) who claimed to be running from the government after being expelled from the Area 51 Military and Research Base. He details the government's plan to survive beneath the new rule of a race of aliens who has recently learned to traverse dimensions into our own. "The government knows about them... the few that are left will be more easily controllable." It seems as if these aliens were requesting that in order to survive the government help them destroy the ones that would be unruly and create war. This song definitely brings about a cold sweat whenever I listen to it. At the very end of the track, it suddenly cuts out. On the Art Bell radio program, the signal from the broadcast was cut suddenly off, causing every radio listening in the country and world's radio to go to static.

Umm just thought Id say Ive been on the Art Bell site, checked out their archives and found that theres no mention of the guy calling back a few days later to say it was all a hoax...

In fact it just says that it really distressed Art a lot that someone could shut down the signal and interestingly it was before the call had ended, and has never happened before or after this incident. Meaning that realistically it HAS to be related and possibly caused by someone... spooky...

Vince and evilangel09, I know exactly what you mean. I was listening to Lateralus on headphones late at night with all the lights off, sitting at my desk playing PS2. My desk is right next to the door, and halfway through this song, my roommate walked right by the doorway wearing a white shirt...all I saw was a flash of white out of the corner of my eye, and I almost fell out of my chair before realizing what I had seen. I'd not felt such a rush of pure terror for some time...

faaip de oiad is in fact ENOCHIAN (not latin or etruscan) for "name of God"... Enochian is an ageliclanguage first transcribed by Dr. John Dee... it's very popular in occult majikal ritual

My frined told me to listen to it, and it was 3 in the morning, he turned all the lights off and I sat here. After it finished I was scared shitless, the music was freaky, and what he said was horrifying. A minute after I heard it I started hearing noises everywhere, like footsteps outside, scaring me even more so.

okay, this song has got to be real, i understand this guy called it in and a few days called back telling it was an ellaborate prank? while, the website for Art Bell mentions nothing of this, and if someone did call back, id expect it to be a government employee hired for the job to call the station and tell it was a prank call to keep it all under control. it makes perfect sense. it isnt possible to do that to a radio station, like he did, for 2 min. of static. What i tihnk happened, this guy had it planned to call them up, he told them what was going on, when the govenment heard this they shut the radio station off till it was under control, then the government took care of him. and arranged it to be known as only a prank call. Tool recognized this and decided to put it on the end of this CD, and make it even eerier, which they DID, wow, i love this song. The Voice of God reference must be a symbol, saying that if we were to hear the voice of god, we would all be so freaked out, and that is what this does to us. KEPP YOUR THIRD EYE OPEN! ;-)

The story is that art bell actually lost contact with the satellite relaying his signal, so he had to go to ground based communication. Any geek with a computer who knows what he's doin can hack a satellite, the encryption secuences were programmed by a human and thus can be cracked by a human. As for your translation, your off a bit, the name is roughly translated into "the voice of god" however the original word for god is "i am" so the translation would read somthing like, "The Voice of me" or "My voice" there is also another language that it could also be a translation of, i forget the language's name, but the words seem to correspond 90% however yet again the word god is actually substituted with something else. The word god is also the same spelling for their word for Reason. Thus in another context it could read "The Voice Of Reason" but you get the general idea nonetheless.
