The moment I said it.
The moment I opened my mouth.
Let in your eye lids
Bulldoze the life out of me.
I know what you're thinking.
But darling you're not thinking straight.
Suddenly things just happened, we can't explain

It's not even light out but you've somewhere to be.
No hesitation no I've never seen you like this.
And I don't like it
I don't like it
I don't like it at all.

Just put back the car keys or somebody's gonna get hurt.
Who are you calling at this hour?
Sit down, come round, I need you now.
We'll work it all out, together.
But we're getting nowhere tonight.
Now sleep, I promise it'll all seem better somehow in time.

It's not even like that.
Suddenly oh, you've somewhere to be.
No hesitation oh, I've never seen you like this.
You're scaring me you're scaring me you're scaring me to death.

Don't oh (smash)
Please don't oh (I do, please, another one)
Don't oh (smash)
Please don't oh (I do, please, another one)

I'm losing you.
I'm losing you.
Trust me on this one.
I've got it bad for you.
Trust me on this one
You're gonna throw it all away
With no hesitation.

(Smash)

My Opinion:I think it's about a husband cheating on his wife and they get into a fight and then get divorced.

General Comment:I agree it is about and ending of a relationship.

But not just that, it is about death too. I think this when she says "Just put back the car keys or somebody's gonna get hurt" and "Trust me on this, I've got a bad feeling, I'm losing you"

She had a feeling that if he drives away in that way he will "smash" the car and die "I'm losing you"

    Losing you here is literal.

My Interpretation:So, I definitely agree with the idea of them fighting but does anyone else feel like the writer thinks the other person is going to get in a car crash if they leave? And at the end the writer seems to make the point that the other is throwing everything away if they leave. The writer could be literally losing them.

General Comment:I'm aware that most interpretations favor an argument between lovers over either cheating or the narrator leaving the other party, but I find it interesting that there's absolutely no sense of guilt being expressed by the person singing in the lyrics. I personally would argue that this is about loss.

"Sadly, things just happen we can't explain."

"Sit down, come 'round, I need you now
We'll work it all out together"

I do agree that the person being spoken to by the narrator is likely abusive and/or alcoholic (though there's more evidence for simply the former) as the section

    "Don't. Oh.
    (smash)
    Please don't. Oh.
    (want a - please - nother one?)
    Don't. Oh.
    (smash)
    Please don't. Oh.
    (want a - please - nother one?)"

    indicates.

But personally I think the lyrics fit the idea of a death, or maybe something more relationship minded -- like say a miscarriage? -- a lot better than cheating. But hey -- just my two cents. It's a beautiful song regardless.

General Comment:An affair has been committed with tons of guilt coming right a long. In this song the woman cheated on her loved one. The song sets off a curious sad mood to keep the listener wondering. The line repeatedly mentioned in the song, "The moment I said it" tells me that he asked her about something fishy going on and she finally had to confess to him. As the song keeps playing they began to fight and I believe it gets physical.

The bumpy ride, during this song, the listener took has shown a relationship take a negative turn. When the song comes to an end, she begins to beg her loved one to not leave her and uses reverse psychology on him. I interpretated that he did not give in to his love one and it was over.

General Comment:I think it is about a woman that cheated and she just told her partner. He's ready to find the person she cheated with right then and there. She wants him to calm down, sleep everything off and deal with it the next morning. He wants to throw everything away and end the relationship and she is begging him to stay.

Lyric Correction:the moment i said it
the moment i opened my mouth
    lead in your eyelids
bulldozed the life out of me

    i know what you're thinking

    suddenly, things just happen
    we can't explain

    it's not even light out
    but you've somewhere to be
    no hesitation
no, i've never seen you like this
and i don't like it at all

just put back the car keys
    or somebody's gonna get hurt

    but we're getting nowhere tonight
sleep, i promise it'll all seem better

    it's not even light out
    (suddenly, suddenly)
    oh, you've somewhere to be
    no hesitation
no, i've never seen you like this
    you're scaring me to death

    don't, oh, (smash) please
don't, oh, (and another one) please

    i'm losing you
    i'm losing you

    trust me on this one
    i've got a bad feeling
    trust me on this one
you're gonna throw it all away
    with no hesitation

(bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye)

General Comment:The first time I heard this song it was at the end of a really intense Criminal Minds episode that ended pretty sadly. I looked up the song lyrics, found the name and then looked it up on youtube to find the song, I found this dance choregraphed by Kate Jablonski(I think she is really talented!) and when I watched it, to me it said everything that this song was about. (here is the url if you guys are curious, keep in mind its lyrical dance: youtube.com/…)

I think that this song is about two people in a relationship, I think that either she has cheated or he he has cheated more than likely it is him I think "Who are you calling at this hour?" and that she tells him or confronts him "The moment I said it the moment I opened my mouth." and then he becomes visually upset "Lead in your eyelids, bulldozed the life out of me" I think that the man decides to leave, try and harm himself or the person that she has had an affair with "Just put back the car keys or somebodies gonna get hurt..." I think that their argument becomes physical because she says "I've never seen you like this and I don't like it you're scaring me to death" and I think the smash is the sound of him hitting her or the sound of their relationship crashing or falling apart. She obviously wants things to be ok to stay together or maybe to just go back to the way they were but he doesn't.

My Interpretation:This is a song about drunk driving representing a relationship. (at around 3:17 you can hear an argument in the backround ".... i'm fine..."
and the end verse with the *smash* sequence symbolized the car (the relationship ending)
