Lyrics for Asleep as interpreted by weezerific:cutlery

Asleep Lyrics
Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I'm tired and I
I want to go to bed
Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
And then leave me alone
Don't try to wake me in the morning
'Cause I will be gone
Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I will feel so glad to go
Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymore
Sing to me
Sing to me
I don’t want to wake up
On my own any more
Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I really want to go
There is another world
There is a better world
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Bye bye

i'm pretty sure it *is* about suicide, but morrissey has a way of making anything sound lovely with that voice of his. heh.

It is a beautiful song. I also discovered this song as well as Smiths from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Lovely book. Stephen Chbosky is just amazing.

(One of the handful of people). I first heard this song in 1988 and it blew me away. Of course it's about suicide, that's a given. It's also a common theme of the next world being a better place, like Death of a Disco dancer and There's a Light That Never Goes Out.

i love this song too, now. im putting it in a book of songs, poems, and stories for my friend- for his birthday. i hope he likes it also. i also hope that he doesn't use it as a suicide note. thats the kind of thing he would do. its so beautiful....hi john, if youre reading this. happy birthday. i love you. :)

yeh, i completely couldnt agree anymore. Perks of Being a Wallflower is an absolutely incredible book, and also got me listening to this song.

In the book, the song Landslide by Fleetwood Mac is also mentioned. Thats definitely one of my favorite songs, i prefer the Smashing Pumpkins cover of it tho. Definitely check it out.

hmmm--never heard of that book but I'll check it out. Love this song. I recall being in my mid-twenties, sitting at Auditorium Shores park in Austin at dusk listening to "Louder than Bombs" on my little boombox. Everything seemed so centered and serene listening to this song. There'll never be another Smiths--they made such a huge impact on my life. Happy and sad at the same time and that's the genius of their songs. Morrissey got too formulaic in the 90's but nothing will ever touch these Smiths songs.

i also love the book Perks of being a wall flower. but actually i heard of this song, from a friend. but i didnt know what it actually was until i read perks. then i downloaded it. ive been listening to it sonstanly since then. i cant stop. i love this song! its my faviorite. i truly believe that if anyone needs to just sit arround all day and listen to a song, or listen to a song when you need to to cry, or if you are depressed, then is this the song for that. i love it with all my heart. everything feels right when listening to it. i think thats why ive been listening to it non stop.

I read the book "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and really dug it. I listened to this song and dug it even more. I was wondering if anyone out there had a list of all the songs mentioned in the book? There was a clear list of a few of the songs in the book, but a few were unclear such as the song played when Charlie felt infinate.

I think ' sing me too sleep ' is probably referring to ' a taste of honey ' by shelagh delaney. Morrisey used this book loads in his lyrics..
