Birds are dumb with small bird brains
But so are kids and old people
Some birds talk most others sing
I don't see you eat a talking bird

Pigs smell bad and roll in poo
But so do kids and elderly
I don't see you chop off an old man's feet
Put them in a mason jar and pickle them

No chowder for you, 'cause clams have feelings too
Actually they don't have central nervous nets
No manhattan style, clams have the right to smile
Come to think about it they don't have a face

They have no face; no place for ears
And no clam eyes to cry clam tears
No spinal cord, they must get bored
Might as well just put them out of misery

I don't believe it's selfish
To eat defenseless shellfish

No chowder for you clams have feelings too
It could happen to you, clams have feelings too
I don't think they do, clams have feelings too

this song is actually about animal rights. fat mike is taking the things meat eaters say to justify killing animals (pigs smell bad and roll in poo) and then apply them to humans (so do kids and elderly) to show that it doesnt make sense (i dont see you chop off an old man's feet, put them in a mason jar and pickle them). the song actually points out the hypocracy of the arguments people make to justify eating meat.

yeah, apparently Fat Mike is now vegetarian ([Er. has been since at least 1997] He said he doesn't have enough discipline to be total vegan &that he eats shellfish and freerange poultry). NOFX's older songs mock vegetarians though. So yeah, I thought this song was making fun of vegetarians, but then I read an interview where he said that he only did that back in his "punky snot-nosed kid" days. So um. yeah. I guess he's being serious &giving the reasons why he can eat clams. or something. Reading peoples interpretations on NOFX songs is really giving me a headache, they're not that hard to figure out.

There is a little problem with the lyrics. It is not:

"Although the world could be more selfish I guess it’s alright to eat shellfish"

    It actually is:

"I don't believe it's selfish To eat defenseless shellfish"

Just saw an interview w/ Fat Mike put on by PETA and yes, he is a vegetarian and mentions that he has songs about animal rights.

Think about it, he's associating the features of animals we eat with the features of human beings, but clams don't have the same features.. so is it okay to eat them?

Just like Kurt Cobain said "It's ok to eat fish 'cause they don't have any feelings" - Something in the way.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
