"There's something in my veins bloodier than blood" is a line was appropriated from author William H. Gass, in his book "In the Heart of the Heart of the Country". |

Weird Al Yankovic – Buckingham Blues Lyrics

Was originally written in the tune of "Jack and Diane" by John Mellencamp, but legal issues kept Al from doing it, so he had to change the words and melody around. |

Beastie Boys – Intergalactic Lyrics

I like the rap at the end,
"Ain't no brotha like the K-I-D (D).
You know what I mean? I'm tellin' you, with the echo?" |

Bob Dylan – On the Road Again Lyrics

This is my favorite song on the album.
You're right, it does show his sense of humor.
The funniest part of the song is the very last line, and the way he says it makes me laugh every time. |

John Prine – It's A Big Old Goofy World Lyrics

love it. the original title was going to be "when the world was flat as a pancake, mona lisa was happy as a clam." however, Prine explains that he opted on "it's a big old goofy world" |

John Prine – Dear Abby Lyrics

Such a hilarious song. I think we all know what this song is about, as John Prine explains it at the beginning. But it is such a great piece of work. |

Simon and Garfunkel – Bridge Over Troubled Water Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
Well first of all, no, the song isn't about drugs, but you can pretend it is if that helps you like it, that's the beauty of a good song, it can have so many levels to it, and you can relate your life to it. Anyway, that loud sound the drum that enters in the middle of the song was made when engineer Roy Halee put a snare drum at the bottom of an elevator shaft, then placed a microphone at the top of the shaft. It gave that haunting deep echo sound of the snare. Wicked, eh? |

Ok people, I had no idea why this wasn't ANYWHERE to be found on the internet, but I listened to the song and got the lyrics down myself. I hope they're 100% correct. Enjoy. |

Marilyn Manson – This Is The New Shit Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
BoNzA is totally right. I mean, Manson is stereotyped (obviously) into being the definition of evil, when he is actually a very intelligent person. I can't say I agree with him on certain things, but I do think that this song is just about the fake people that only like him because he is "evil and antichrist". You who are only fans because of this are ignorant and stupid. Listen to the lyrics and you'll realize it. |

Elton John – Honky Cat Lyrics
|
It's pretty cool how this song contradicts Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in a way, because he's taking about quittinng his redneck ways, while in GYBR, he wants to go back to the country. It is probably done on purpose to show his confusion with what he does and how he longs for both lifes. |

Donovan – Mellow Yellow Lyrics
|
Nope. I heard the same thing but it isn't true. Also, Paul McCartney played with him on this track, as well as many others. It was Donovans way of setting a lightly visible tribute to Yellow Submarine, and McCartney was pleased and played along with him in the song. |

John Lennon – Jealous Guy Lyrics

I just love the way it portrays the act of jealousy. Usually jealousy seems to be a bad thing, because its labeled as being over-obsessive. But Lennon was able to express it in a lovely way. |
