Sure is debated but could be people with skin in the game having it connected to this or that. I will say it is a song that God fearing and God loving individuals assert there contradictory opinion. It is not a happy song if you don't know the rule.
Drink rum prior and before a certain time then you will be ending your night slamming bears without thinking about it and while that should be ok rum is hang-overed but usually not slammed but with beer toppers and no food. He is in Margaritaville and has payed for the services of a lady in the night so he is heavily drunk. This is why he keeps saying he doesn't think woman ever does anything wrong. That is not the strategy but it doesn't hurt unless it happens twice. So,
yes. Once. More than that? Alcohol that is. If you had a standard elsewhere there is no way anybody including me gets that. How did she get there? That is her fault and maybe his once and it depends on the judge. |

5 o'clock somewhere might be giving aid to Dolly Parton's associated song called 9-5 as we all know that extra 30 minute lunch is there. The song is saying he is known to possibly drink a beer at lunch. Mind you, he is probably his own boss or his wife is because he talks about boss given him hard time so he clicks out early. The song however seems to suggest you shouldn't blow your lid at work else your boss might say, "your fired - I'll mail your final check to you." If you start adding you day's hours with lunch they might tell you it is close enough to quitting time that he'll pay you for the day. If you don't know about then you know on Saturday if you started drinking at noon you have a friend who might say it is close enough but its 5 oclock somewhere which means you can get chatty Cathy about work's mones. |

According to the words themselves, the song is saying the head is not involved in the decisions. Decisions made while still hung-over (day drunk) or worse while drinking. Decisions to be in that location with those people at that time. Going from day drunk through to night all body. However they don't get out of bed the first part of the song holding "good" day part back. 3 shifts in a date which means not until after breakfast completed does "good" day start and that kind of delay could be not until the alcohol to drunk starts. Shouldn't be Leaving Vegas so "talking body." One interpretation, however states an expert if the male is drinking with a girl and she is doing it for him and he is the professional he classifies his as all bad so that she gets the good or day part while excluding those he knows they are not suffering. Net zero. |

Never thought of drinking in those terms. In fact, I had a condition where I would at 6pm or after. If drinking during the day it always made me sleep early and sick feeling. Like SUPER lazy. |

Nuts is true. On the man, he has two "nipples" and two "balls" and this can be viewed that
