Nearly a perfect song, it's musically interesting and even catchy, the lyrics are strong and evocative, and Vedder is so emotional when he sings.
BUT I can't get into his voice and I never knew these were the lyrics when I first heard this song because he muffles his voice so much. I wish Vedder had a better voice, it'd make this band in general perfect. |

Has a very similar guitar and piano part to "Heroes" and I initially hated it for that reason since it seemed like a ripoff, but taking a closer look at the lyrics... they almost parallel "Heroes" in a way where this seems like a direct homage while Murphy also applies it to his own life.
Really grew on me. |
