Rated 0 It seems this song has been pretty well analyzed. The one aspect I haven't seen explored is the possibility that this might have a darker edge to it than even the homicidal teen rampage. This might have a hint of 'generational' serial killer phenomena. Back in 2001, there was the father/son team of serial shooters in the Washington DC area. Darker still, is the line: "Because dinner's in the kitchen and it's packed in ice" Even if you make dinner for a neglectful parent/spouse, "packing it in ice" doesn't make much sense...unless, it is some kind of fresh meat that you don't want to spoil and start decomposing. Could be one of the victims and either Robert has discovered something very disturbing about his father (maybe some of the other "fun things" he found in the box with the gun - 'trophies' of his father's victims perhaps) - or he has now completely broken with reality his Daddy is indeed back from home and is the one packed in ice. Just sayin' |
