i do think this song is about jason (he wrote something about this and how it really helped him get his feelings out about his parents). my perspeective is this- his parents don't seem very responsible, there are party's going on, possible drug use and one of them cheating on the other. i think the picture of The Last Supper represents the irony of these people showing a religious side when they dont reallt care for their child at all.i dont really understand the pool party bit but i've been reading what others wrote and some of it fits. but like i was saying they don't care for jason and he wasnt a child for that long because he had to grow up quickly and look after himself. this refers to the line "taking this empyy cup"(jason life)"and filling it up with a little bit more of innocence". besides all he's been through i think jason forgives his parents "it's probably because when you're young It's okay to be easily ignored". It's almost as if he's making excuses for the lack of attention he recieved from his parents. you can probably figure the rest of it for yourself. it's a sad song. it's terribly when i child has to go through their parents divorcing. many times a child could blame themselves and that's even more upsetting. however this song is particularly heart-breaking because of the chorus and it's hidden meanings. |
