Yeah, if this were an Evanescence song, then it must be so rare that even EvanescenceReference doesn't know about it. Not to mention the grammatical errors thrown in for flavor. |

This is probably a weird place to put it, but I don't get why there are a lot of people who don't like TOD. Sure, it's a different sound, but just because something changes doesn't mean it's automatically worse.
Unrelatedly, there's an ad on the page about the warning signs of a stroke. Vaguely amusing, in a semi-ironic sort of way. |

Evanescence – Call Me When You're Sober Lyrics

"no more of that 'I think this song's about Jebus!' crap!"
lol. There is usually at least one comment saying that a song's about Christianity.
And kamri39: calm down! Breakups usually happen because of problems on both sides. Don't just start calling someone you've never met a bitch, k? |

Terry Balsamo. He's the guitarist, better known (at least to me xD) as "that guy with the dreadlocks in the music videos". He and Amy are the main songwriters.
I love the "we're wandering now / all in parts and pieces": it gets stuck in my head whenever I listen to this song. |

Quoting a source that I don't remember:
"If you listen to the track 'Hello' on Fallen, you can hear the grief."
That is so true. It's such a beautiful song.
And to Jirou: Ben wrote My Immortal. Amy added the bridge, I think, but it's mostly Ben's song. |

Queen – The Show Must Go On Lyrics

Someone's probably mentioned this before, but I'll add it anyway since it's pure awesomeness:
"When Brian May presented the final demo to Mercury, he had doubts that Mercury would be physically capable of singing the song's highly demanding vocal line, due to the extent of his illness at the time. To May's surprise, when the time came to record the vocals, Mercury consumed a measure of vodka and said "I'll fucking do it, darling!" then proceeded to nail the vocal line in one take without problems."
Freddie was seriously amazing. He managed to live more in 45 years than a lot of people do in twice that. I love this song: it just captures how he lived perfectly.
Also, I think "I'll fucking do it, darling!" is going to be my catchphrase from now on. |

Evanescence – Heart-Shaped Box (Nirvana cover) Lyrics

I don't get all the Nirvana fans who are saying it's ruined because Ev changed the sound. After listening to both Kurt's and Amy's versions, I think that it's a good cover because it does what a cover's supposed to do: a band takes a song and puts their own spin on it. Sure, Amy changed the sound, but what would be the point of a cover that's identical to the original version? People listen to covers to see how a band takes a song and makes it their own. I also, btw, think that Cake did a good job of this for their I Will Survive cover.
PS - Don't think I'm bashing Nirvana fans: I'm one myself. =) |

About the bipolar thing: Amy specifically said that she wasn't bipolar and that "Lithium" wasn't about the drug. But that's the great thing about art: you can interpret it however you want to, and what it means to you isn't necessarily what it means to the artist. =)
And I like The Open Door. It's got Lithium, Sweet Sacrifice, Like You, Good Enough, and this song. Sure, it's maybe a very close third behind Fallen and Origin, but it's still a good album. I think the change in sound is mainly due to a change in Amy's psyche. For example, Sweet Sacrifice was written as the last song about the bad relationship that Fallen was based on. Significant difference. |

The original was by a band called Bread? lol
I think it's about how a musician is super-popular, but he's empty inside. Though I may just be listening to too much Ev. |

Am I the only one here who's read "Sailor Nothing"?
To find it, you can search "Sailor Nothing" on tvtropes.org: the page for it has a link.
For people who have read it, this song fits the main character really well. |

This song captures my feelings about depression so well: I didn't want to stay depressed but I didn't want to get better: I felt like depression gave me something special. And also there was the matter of depression being familiar and comforting, in a way: I knew myself in the darkness. But I had to let go of it to break free. I'm glad I did =) |

I love the music video. It even has a moral: never go sleepwalking out of your apartment window with only a hot guitarist to save you, for he will drop you and leave you plummeting to your death, especially if you are both singing while this is going on. |

To me, it's about a guy who likes a girl and lies to her about who he is ("caught in your own glory/believing your own stories"), but to get her to like him he has to be honest and open up to her. |
