i like that idea. i just dont get the 'when you see my friends part'. my spin on it is that he took it badly, and is considering suicide or soemthing, and althoguh it hurt he, he's annoyed that she didnt take it as badly as he did. thats probably all wrong but... just an alternative interpretation |

heres the thing with song meanings, people interpret them differently so they can never be right or wrong, there can only be, what the band believed the song was about, and what i want the song to be about. I like the chorus, and the lines 'the best part of believe in is the lie'. I make the songs mean something to me,,, which may completely different from what the artists intended. But isnt that the point of music? do you guys get me?

i agree, however i do think it is linked to the second part of the song, as there are two meaning to the song in my opinion, the first is obvios, he thinks hes a sell out and a fake, the second could be about people who are not really depressed, but cut to get attention, fakers (they still clearly are troubled if they think thats the only way to get attention) Ie scenesters (no offense to scenesters!!!). |

like many have said this is about him feeling like a sell out, but he doesn't really care, theres alot worse things. He also talks about cutting in his monologue, about its not an answer.
'love is not like anything, especially a fucking knife'
this could be his view of the common saying, death is love, which is from another saying (one of my favourites ^^) in with a bullet out with hearts. Most people have looked at the monologue as having nothing to do with the actual song, i disagree. I think the songs has to meaning, about him being a sell out, as well as the scene kids (no offnece to scenesters intended!!!) who act depressed and cut for attention, Fakers. i dont know...
