tee2thawhy, It really is a reference to "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" though. The character is described as 'the mousy girl' throughout the entire play, and at one point she literally screams "Violence! Violence!" during a scene.
So yes, the lyrics can be applied to multiple situations, but in reality the line is a blatant reference to Albee's play.

And ultrasmash, very observant of you... I never picked up on the similarity between the playwright and Kevin's daughter's name... that's pretty cool

The song doesn't even necessarily imply that Kevin "enjoys it [Story of the Eye] so much." They are simply discussing it, and he likes the fact that this girl can *appreciate* the story- whether for its content, or simply for its literary value.

It definitely says "discussing" the first time, that part is obvious... but I think when he repeats it, they might switch to "disgusting" instead... you know, like an intentional play on words...

what does "you were there in fours" mean?

to me it sounds like:

standing at swedish festival discussing "story of the eye"
disgusting "story of the eye"

admittedly "story of the eye" is very pornographic. but maybe this particular story is referenced not because kevin enjoys reading it so much as because it would be certain to provoke an intriguing discussion (especially with a stranger) can you imagine?

a good song, although this cd was a bit disappointing to me
