This song is inspiring. To me, it is when you feel ready to step back into the love thing and all the other things that come with it. You have had time to learn about the mistakes you made in your last relationship. The tricks up your sleeve are possibly your insecurities and your ways of dealing with them. There are some very valid comments here. I think we can all agree that what Ian and the boys are singing about is the state of of the streets during an average saturday night out on the town. I happen to come from where the boys are from. Seriously, up in Ponty, it has a history of getting ugly. So, Ian may sound too sensitive about this issue, but with good reason.
In general this song conveys the standard LP focal point; the struggles of life in terms of being a sheep and following 'the crowd'.
A nice song to let off steam to though =)

Just to clarify (seeing as this site is about song meanings) this song is when you are going through a spell of low self-confidence/ self-esteem and you are having difficulty simply interacting with the opposite sex (or for same sex if thats who you bat for I guese).
It can be relevent in high school/ college/ being a young adult or even being a lonely adult who still feels like a boy. |

This LP is neat so far.
For me this song is a nice easy one to listen to. It is easy to recognize that it is to do with a relationship that turned sour.

I'm feeling like that right now. I'm taking the steps to break down the wall. Even if people think I am stupid, I have show my true colours. I know that I like the music I like and I like the subjects and hobbies I like. If I don't have as much to talk about, or I'm not as obsessed with fashion as they are then it is their problem and not mine. I won't feel jelous if one man is more muscular than me at the present time; I shall focus on improving my muscle gradually and one day soon I shall be muscular. This gives me confidence, knowing I am being all that I can be. Accepting myself makes it easier for me to be accpeted by others.

Anyone who can in some way relate to this song, my heart really does go out to you.
I am in high school and my parents are arguing all the time. All the time. They do it infront of me and incourage me and my older brother to take sides with them. All I want is for them to love eachother and show it more often. They say everything is fine. Maybe they have got used to this twisted pattern and enjoy arguing somehow; the point is that I can't live this way.. I want it to be really wonderful. Not just to be told it is wonderful. I want to be cared for too. I feel as if they have neglected the fact that I am still young (it sucks saying that but hey it is the truth right) and we should at least try and appreciate eachother for the time we have left together. For me, this song has that house party feel with a deeper underlying message. The message being "the reason that we teens and tweens act these ways is because we are confused about a lot of things!" Well thats kinda my wave of thinking
