I don't know if this has been said before but in the book "Heavier Than Heaven", the author says that this song can't be about anyone other than Kurt's ex Tobi Vail. I felt that this could be true because she had to do with the inspiration with the name because of that deodorant or whatever. |

I agree with Snake Doctor with it not being about drugs, especially if he read it was about a relationship. I find it weird that he wrote it AFTER they broke up by looking at the lyrics again. To me, if it's inspired by a relationship, I feel that it's just about all the emotions (negative and positive) that one goes through while with that person you "think" is the one as they say.
Maybe Patton thought this girl he was dating was perfect and turned out to be something completely different. |

He said on BBC radio one that "I was reading the book Lolita and it was something inspired by my current girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood who's obviously much younger than me, but having the sarcasm to make the point of that and showing up to visit me once wearing heart-shaped glasses which is the same as the Kubrick movie poster for the film Lolita and me saying what I say in the chorus of the song."

Looking at the lyrics again, I'm getting the feeling that this song is about how the narrator loves another and wants to be with them but the person has a "reason" why they can't be together. Then the chorus is all how the narrator is pleading to show them how they won't let them down in the end. |
