I love this song. Its the same message as "The Last Stop", just meaning that war isn't the only way to peace. My favorite part is as follows: Remember the words of the misguided fool Do unto others as you'd have them do Not an eye for an eye as the golden rule It just leaves a room full of blind men To me, it means the most. If we're just going to do what is done to us and kill everyone, everyone is just going to end up dead and what good does that do for us? |

| The "Flake" is pretty much unsure of what she wants in the relationship and she makes up excuses or suddenly has new plans when she and he are supposed to see each other and hang out. When he asks her to hang out and she says "Maybe", he knows he won't be seeing her. He becomes confused by what she wants from him, but he's not going to give up on her. She'll come around. I've been a flake as well and I've made this one guy go crazy, which I am very regretful about the decisions I've made. This song hits me home. haha | |

You know, just kind of casually thinking of something so deep. I agree with DaveMatthewsgirl. Woah, okay people. I don't think you're looking deep enough into these amazing lyrics. The song means that America has had some tough times in the past few years and that the country as a whole has changed. We are losing our values of which this country was built on. He's telling us to stay American, stay beautiful, and not forget what our country is all about. and yes, maybe its not the best that DMB has to give. the rest of the new album should be better and will be, damn it! |
