"The first star I see may not be a star." I think this line is about that 'certain someone' who's your perfect match. The song is about beign in a relationship and now sure if it'll last or if it's with the right person. This is probably his first love so he's all caught up and the star he's talking about is love. So hes saying that the first person he falls in love with may not be the right one or the last... The first part of the song i believe, is thinking about breaking up and having doubts. The second part is the girl dumping him. The "Can you still feel the butterflies, Can you still hear the last Good-night" is like, do you still feel that special feeling when we kiss or anything between us, or do you remember our last good-night or our good bye. I think the guy's still in love with this girl or still cares for her because shes's his angel. i dunno. thats just what i think :0D |

Um, guys. This is an A-ha cover. I'm listening to the song right now and this is the exacty song, so yes this is a cover. and A-ha origionally had this song plus they were around before MXPX. Don't believe me? Look up "Take on me" for titles (do a search) and some people write (aha cover) which it is, but this guy didn't give credit tothe guys. obviously because he didnt remember them. Think back to the 80s early 90s. im not sure when this video came out. it took place in a diner, and some womans reading a comic and theres a good looking guy in it an d he starts moving and she gets sucked into the comic and its this whole big thing. Too bad they dont play it any more. it was good. |

this is my favorite Aerosmith song ever... I fell in love with this song when it first came out.. i remember. I had just been allowed to watch MTV and then they had this music video and this nerdy guy is like cloning and making these beautiful girls for him but they'd leave him for a jock or whoever, (He gets a chick in the end dont worry). just reading it , i thougth it had to do with a love triangle... theres this one superficial girl who's just stringing the guy along ("She's his yellow brick road Leading him on And letting him go as far as she lets him go Going down to nowhere"). meanwhile. i think theres a 2nd girl who's still in love with this guy... they went out but they broke up for whatever reason and then she realizes that shes still head over heels for this guy. Maybe they were best friends and this girl whos in love with him knows that he's going after the wrong girl. so the "dont leave me now" could be like 'don't leave me behind for this new girl" ya know? either way. michelle branch said she writes love songs because everyone can relate to them, and everyone that's posting here may have a different idea of the song, but the point is you're relating somehow, and that's the important thing. :) |

i'd have to go with 'superchristian6' on this one. I dont think this one is about vampires. maybe i'm looking into it too deeply. i think the only part that would make someone think it's about vampires is "we only come out at night..." Night is dark and the darkness is mean for evil- light is good. so maybe it has to do with not being able to tell the truth. You're living in a lie and youre trying to make due. You can't face the truth or maybe you're trying. -->"i'm on my own, i'm on my own to see the ways that i can't help the days, you will make it home o.k." i think this has to do with maybe you're telling someone else the truth (you will make it home ok). and how youre on your own since you lied so much. i dont know this is my take on the song. but i really dont think its got much to do with vampires. |

wow. i saw Robert Plant on tour with the Who... and he's awesome. the LedZeppelin songs he and his band played were amazing. this song rocks. i think its about a relationship. They've got this fire (burning passion) for the other, but it "rains" and one person doesn't feel like that anymore. yet the other person is still in love with them. and they're realizing, "Upon us all a little rain must fall". this song isnt really that harsh. now a days (man i sound old...) people are constantly saying 'i love you' when you first meet. so i think that this is like a puppy love thing. when you're in middle school and you tell someone you love them when you're going out, and you break up a week later, and you realize you didn't really love them. So if it was some dinky 'i love you' like that, then more power to you for taking it back. it's not a nice thing to do but then again, the world isnt too nice anymore. get over it |

this is a really sad song. the first time i listened to it i got goosebumps and i cried. someone had left a message saying that this song was mainstream and teeny boppers were all into it. i dont think thats true. i havent seen them on mtv or anything, and hey, if SC gets famous, more power to them. i love a lot of their songs and the reason they started a band was to share their music with people. the more people they reach the better. i think this song has to do with a guy and a girl that are dating. and maybe they've broken up and the guy misses the girl, or maybe he's afraid to break up with her or he just doesnt want to. they're scared to be alone. they dont know what they'd do without the other, or maybe they're just scared to be single. maybe they know they have to break up or whatever, but the guy doesnt want to. and he knows that he hurt the girl somehow, but he doesnt want to lose her. i think it's sweet. either way, its a sad song and you can relate to it no matter what your situation. this is my fave band of the moment and no matter what the song means, it still rocks. |
