Circling, you're circling, you're circling your head
Contemplating everything you ever said
Now I see the truth, I got a doubt
A different motive in your eyes and now I'm out
See you later

I see your fantasy
You wanna make it a reality paved in gold
See inside, inside of our heads, yeah
Well, now that's over

I see your motives inside
Decisions to hide

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
Headstrong, we're Headstrong
Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
And this is not where you belong

I can't give everything away
I won't give everything away

Conclusions manifest
Your first impressions got to be your very best
I see you're full of shit and that's alright
That's how you play, I guess you get through every night
Well, now that's over

I see your fantasy
You wanna make it a reality paved in gold
See inside, inside of our heads, yeah
Well, now that's over

I see your motives inside
Decisions to hide

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on any one
I know that you are wrong
Headstrong, we're headstrong
Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
And this is not where you belong
Where you belong

I can't give everything away
This is not where you belong
I won't give everything away

I know, I know all about
I know, I know all about
I know, I know all about
I know, I know all about
Your motives inside
And your decision to hide

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
Headstrong, we're headstrong
Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
And this is not where you belong
Where you belong
This is not where you belong

I can't give everything away
This is not where you belong
I won't give everything away
This is not where you belong
This is not where you belong

My opinion seems to aim in a similar direction as yours, manduh. I think this song is about a relationship about two people who are different. The woman wants the man to give up everything he has, but he won't do that. So he tells her to get out of his life. "This is not where you belong", I believe is aiming at him telling her that he's not right for her. And her motives are for him to give up his whole life and everything he has to satisfy her. And he's "headstrong", which is why he's saying no. He's not going to be bossed around. He knows that she's not right for him. Just a theory. Please don't shoot it down. C:

Why are you wasting yours and everyone elses time if you don't like the song? If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Turn the station. Turn the channel. I admit it's not the greatest song in the world by far but goddamn. There's more productive ways to spend your time.. Like playing in traffic for instance. WHy don't you go do that instead of clogging up this site? This site was put here so people could read the lyrics of a song and post what the words mean to them. If you hate it, the words mean nothing. So if they mean nothing, then you have no legitamit (sp) reason to post here. Go post on a song you DO like.

Err, really, it's only a good song for pre-pubescent Good Charlotte fans who think the world hates them.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
