I see problems down the line
I know they're not mine
Don't wash the dirt off of your hands
You're doing the same mistake twice
Making the same mistake twice

Come on over
don't be so caught up
It's not about compromising

I see problems down the line
I know they're not mine
I see darkness down the line
I know it's not fine

But don't wash the dirt off of your hands
You're doing the same mistake twice
Making the same mistake twice

Come on over
Don't be so caught up
It's all about colonizing
I see problems down the line
I know they're not mine

Don't let the darkness eat you up
Don't let the darkness eat you up
Don't let the darkness eat you up
Don't let the darkness eat you up

Don't let the darkness eat you up
Don't let the darkness eat you up
Don't let the darkness eat you up
Don't let the darkness eat you up

    My Interpretation

I feel like he is talking to a friend with this beautiful song. A friend who has been going through a relationship rollercoaster but is still staying in the relationship. He's telling his friend straight up, "i see problems down the line.. making the same mistake twice" He's also there for his friend, he offers company for this friend, to pass those grueling hours of having to be away from a lover the friend has to let go. Don't let the darkness eat you up.

To me, this song is about just letting nature take it's course...not forcing things to work/happen...letting things fall into place because eventually they will.

I can't help but feel that this is a song of sadness, yet, at the same time one of redemption. It's as if he's singing this to a friend/or the listener who is going through a hard time and he's retelling their problems, how they made mistakes, their attempts to solve them and then finally he says to not worry.

It makes me think of when he says,"I see problems down the line, I know that I'm right." He's a person looking ahead and knows things are going bad as if out of experience he's seeing it again and again.

Then when he says,"Doing the same mistake twice..." As if he knows it's that this problem he has to deal with he can't do anything but the same solution which maybe wrong.

The end when he says,"Don't let the darkness eat you up." Is as if he's saying to his friend/listener not to let all the depression and darkness looming over us to take over.

I can't believe how simple the lyrics are yet they are so moving. Every person goes through a darkness and he's singing to us not to let it take over us. I try hard yet fail miserably sometimes this song really does make me feel teary-eyed yet by the end of it I feel strong, happy and most of all less anxious about the future. Great song.

Such a beautifully simple song. I think it's about the importance of seeing the world for what it is, instead of seeing it for what you want it to be. Could relate to personal relationships or the world in a broader context (the video for this song supports this idea).

I think it's about a complicated relationship, or the end of a relationship. You know, those weird weeks when there is "break-up sex" or two people don't love each other anymore but can't break up because they are so used to each other. The reason why i think this is this verse: "Come on over be so caught up its all about compromise." To me that says to the person to basically ignore the problems "down the line" and do the same wrong again, which is hanging on to a relationship that shouldn't be. And there are almost no reasons to do so anymore, it's just "all about compromise".

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
