Lyrics for Enjoy The Silence as interpreted by antispork

Enjoy The Silence Lyrics
Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Enjoy the silence.

I think this song just expresses exactly HOW powerful words can be among people. He's saying "enjoy the silence" because once the silence is broken... You are bound to be hurt at one point or another.. Which is very true.. I'm JUST getting into Depeche Mode and I think they ROCK the house.

I think it's about a relationship. He is saying that if we don't speak we can't hurt each other, i enjoy being with you, in your arms, and it's perfect, but don't tell me things I won't want to hear...

One of the greatest songs, and albums EVER made.If not the best! A work of art, a masterpiece, beautifull, tantalizing, mesmirizing. There is no other album that portrays such raw emotion, and passion. Unfortunately, in my opinion Depeche Mode hasnt been able to top this album. When youve done the best how can you top it? They are still good, but this is there absolute best stuff. Depech Mode really showed there true artistry when they made this album. This is one of my favorites.

Man, I had forgotten how beautiful this song is. I always think of my gf when I hear this song. To me its not about ruining anything with words, or expecting one of us to say something wrong, or even to try to communicate better or any of that crap. When I'm just holding my gf in my arms, I have anything I need. I enjoy the silence because it helps point out a feeling I get that I can't describe with words. Any words spoken at that point would just halt my silent message of love to her......

um, yeah, anyways.... good song! hehe

whether or not it's about heroin, the meaning remains the same. pain comes through words. every word of this song is perfect, it sums the message up wonderfully. wonderous. anyways, that's what i think...

the silence brings time to a standstill, and everything is possible. Breaking the silence brings us back to reality, and the dream is broken

Ok, I dont want to put anyone down, and not knowing the true maning of the song I guess I could be wrong, but this is a really beautiful song, and not in my opinion anything to do with heroin. I've heard coldplay's yellow and a couple of other 'love songs' about wanting someone etc. etc. turned round to be linked with heroin. I guess its a case of interepretation, but for a song truly written about heroin addiction try Sublime - Hope, which also happens to be an amazing song, jut like this one.

to mafonna81 view the depeche mode is a hypocrit. Becouse they're using words to break the silence themselves. Ha.

i think it means he's got whet he wants, a perfect life, beautiful girlfriend and he is telling his girl not to spoil it by talking. maybe she's from essex or something... only joking, hope i didn't offend anyone! i think he's just saying we've just got our relationship going good, and lets not argue anymore and spoil what we have. if none of us speak, we can't argue!! i'm going off trail here... sorry.

The song could be about heroine or about a relationship, to alot of people on it, heroine is like their best relationship ever. But since im not on Heroine, i think of it as blinkbomber does, just being with your girl and enjoying the silence, not needing to say anything, not beacue words will ruin it, but because you dont need them.

COME ON!!!!!! Just because he says "All I ever needed is here in my arms" You guys think it's about heroin. DICKS. First of all- Heroin is ALMOST ALWAYS referred to as a male. Second of all there is nothing else to indicate that this is about heroin. This song is about an interpersonal relationship between a man and a woman. You people know fucking ZERO about junkies, and you should be happy that you don't. But don't pretend to know what the fuck you're talking about.

I've just discovered Depeche Mode through the 'Violator' album, and I'm totally in love with this song.

I see it as being about a relationship rather than heroin. He's saying that analysing how they feel could trivialise what they have together, and sometimes it's better just to feel. Or maybe they've been going through some bad times and he just doesn't want to talk about them. But that's just my interpretation.

The HIM cover is really good, IMHO.
