Lyrics for They Don't Care About Us as interpreted by Mru007

They Don't Care About Us Lyrics
Skin head
Dead head
Everybody
Gone bad
Situation
Aggravation
Everybody
Allegation
In the suite
On the news
Everybody
Dog food
Bang bang
Shot dead
Everybody's
Gone mad

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Beat me
Hate me
You can never
Break me
Will me
Thrill me
You can never
Kill me
Do me
Sue me
Everybody
Do me
Kick me
Strike me
Don't you
Black or white me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Tell me what has become of my life
I have a wife and two children who love me
I'm a victim of police brutality, now
I'm tired of bein' the victim of hate,
Your rapin' me of my pride
Oh for God's sake
I look to heaven to fulfill its prophecy...
Set me free

Skin head
Dead head
Everybody
Gone bad
Trepidation
Speculation
Everybody
Allegation
In the suite
On the news
Everybody
Dog food
Black man
Black mail
Throw the brother
In jail

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Tell me what has become of my rights
Am I invisible 'cause you ignore me?
Your proclamation promised me free liberty, now.
I'm tired of bein' the victim of shame
They're throwin' me in a class with a bad name
I can't believe this is the land from which I came
You know I really do hate to say it
The government don't wanna see
But if Roosevelt was livin'
He wouldn't let this be, no no.

Skinhead
Deadhead
Everybody
Gone bad
Situation
Speculation
Everybody
Litigation
Beat me
Bash me
You can never
Trash me
Hit me
Kick me
You can never
Get me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Some things in life they just don't wanna see
But if Martin Luther was livin'
He wouldn't let this be

Skinhead
Deadhead
Everybody's
Gone bad
Situation
Segregation
Everybody
Allegation
In the suite
On the news
Everybody
Dog food
Kick me
Hike me
Don't you
Wrong or right me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

pooey? what sort of stupid adjective is that?
and anyway, whats wrong with the song? and if you are saying he has "hit a low", that really isnt much of an insult seeing as the classics "thriller" and "bad" set the tone for pop, and any thing that wasnt as good as those two would be his "low"

well, my choice of humour is completely unnattached to any of michael jacksons music, past or present. And if you are unimpressed with the works of Tom Green, go post them there. And as far as MJ goes, HIStory was still a great album, but music and peoples tastes had moved on by the time it came out, and undoubtably the ablum would have done far better if it was released earlier in his career.

wasn't there a whole huge thing that people thought he was saying "jew me" in this song?

He WAS saying "jew me" and also "k*ke me," but he changed it after people complained... then he changed it back for the video. That's why this song is garbage (No offense to the band Garbage, who I love).

This song is generally about discrimination and racism. He's whining about it, sure... and then sings, "Jew me" and "kike me". Anyone familiar with the history of many Jews in disproportionate power positions in Hollywood, politics, etc, will understand his point of reference. That's 'understand,' not agree with. Folks in power have the ability to shape a culture via the media and money.

I think when Michael says "Jew me" and "Kike me" that means he doesn't want you to say that.

Funnily enough, some people still say Michael isn't living in reality anymore and that he doesn't know anything about the world around him. They say he's living in his own fantasy dream world. How could they? How can they?

Michael really is politically conscious, some people just don't know it yet.

The video to this song really brings the meaning alive, he is in some dictative nation and has rallied the local people NOT to cause aggravation but to sing the song and inform the world of the large scale police state set up by their government. i am not a fan of jackson in the slightest but he like u2 and sting have used the power of music to inspire and lead change in the world. and in this case expose the truth of what our leaders are willing to overlook in order to raise their bank balances through arms trades and oil. Democracy????????

Ok I may be a little thick but please bear with me. When he sang the original lyrics "Jew me, sue me" and "Kick me, Kike me" lines, what does he mean? How do you "Jew" of "Kike" someone?

He is using Kike and Jew as verbs for the derogatory use of those words as slander.

He was trying to use the terms in a sympathetic manner, to show that many were trying to terminate him in spirit the way Hitler, etc., tried to exterminate Jewish people. However, it backfired on him, as many Jewish people were understandably upset and called for the lyrics to be changed. Jackson apologized, but a lyrical retraction was still called for, so he complied on the cd and at least one of the two versions of the video. I can't remember if he changed the lyrics in the jail house version of the vid. I'll have to check.

This song speaks out about all the people who suffer discrimination, including Michael himself, and how unneccesary it all is. I love how he doesn't have to make it too obvious and sing,"#I am upset about this situation...#" he uses these short hard phrases and allows you too think about them yourself. A very intelligent set of lyrics from MJ. It shows his anger at people being judgemental and higlights some clear issues (Segregation) (Throw the brother/In jail) (if Martin Luther was livin'/He wouldn't let this be). He addresses the issues that are clearly about him (Don't you Black or White me) - his skin colour is always questioned. (I'm tired of being the victim of hate) - if he has done anything that deserves so much hate from a lot of people, fair enough but he's a 'victim'. Everyone has thier own little Michael Jackson theory but what has he done wrong? Nothing. He's almost too good as a person and yet there are always false allegations based on untruths and people being too quick too judge.

I actually think this is one of his best songs both lyrically an musically
I don't think it was racist in any way shape or form
You can really tell how he's feeling in this song and it makes sense

although...he says in this "i have a wife and two children who love me"
wasn;t this song written in 1995? he didnt have prince until 1997 and paris until 1998 right?

for starters ppl that say this song is garbage or his low point, "Cough deep blue day Neo Cough", dont know what they are talking about. Michaels songs through the generations were about whats going on in that paticular time or in his life. this song is about all the wrongfull stuff happening to him. especially with the verse "jew me and Kike me" it means dont treat him like you have treated them, which ppl have been in a way treating him like a jew in the last years of his life, stripping him of his rights and treating him like he is nothing. this song is basically a huge dont to all the ppl that treat michael with disrespect and hate. "dont you black or white me (my favorite line of the song), dont you beat me or try to kill me." and no matter what ppl throw at him he will never break or quit. michael was an unbelievable human being, with his musical gift and beautiful giving spirit. He did everything in his power to change the world for better and succeeded and selfish, ignorant, money loving assholes tried to ruin that. this world wont be the same without him, Rip michael, one of the greatest HUMANS ever to walk this earth.

Michael Jackson wrote some good songs. But that's all he ever did. He raped little boys, and you people talk up to him like he's the messiah. and he's not. and none of you even cared about him until he died. so get a life and quit obsessing over a dead guy.

"THEY don't really care about us"

THEY...

How clear can Michael get with this song, seriously, listen to the song carefully, it has more of a meaning than what you believe...

THEY DONT REALLY CARE ABOUT US

This song isn't just about Michael Jackson, it's about how the people are suppressed of their liberties, and the 'leaders' apathy towards the people.

Does anyone know what the lyrics are to what Michael ad-libs at the end of the song?
after "but if Martin Luther was livin', he wouldn't let this be...no, no, no, ey, yea, yea, yea, wooohoo, woooohoooo,"
it sounds like, "we're deeply in fire" but i'm not sure...does anyone know?
