I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

General Comment:It's funny how a song that is quite old now can still give goosebumps... Louie is the man! ...And all this coming from someone who listens to Megadeth on a daily basis. They just dont make music like they did in the 50's - 70's anymore... its a long lost art. There is still great music being made, but somehow all the innocence is gone now. Just my thoughts.

General Comment:Just listened to this on The Mentalist (even though I'm not actually watching the TV show). I had forgotten how special this song is; it's one of Armstrong's best, if not his best. It's so beautiful and upbeat....makes it difficult not to feel warm and fuzzy on the inside...

General Comment:This is my all time favorite song. Louis Armstrong does it best of course. A close runner up, though, is the cover done by Hawaian singer "Iz" (Israel Kamakawiwo`ole) in which he seamlessly combines Wonderful World with Somewhere Over the Rainbow sung to eukaleli music. Its the closing song to the movie "12 Monkeys" with Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis if you've seen that.

General Comment:Notice how he starts off singing about the beauty of the world and then moves into people.
When i hear this song it feels like he's reminding me not to forget about the simple things in life. Sunny days, rainy days, just nature in general. When he sings about people he's telling us the we also have that same beauty inside of all of us. He sees the colors of the rainbows in all our faces, say hi to someone you don't know it may seem insignificant to you but it may make someones day(simple things). Then he sings about babies, teach your children to love everyone, teach them compassion show them the beauty that all of us have inside. Remember he lived in a time of a lot of hate, yet with that hate he saw on a daily basis, he still saw the potential beauty in humans. People posting about starving kids, (and i'm not calling you out just making a point) besides posting on a forum, what have you done to change that? Instead of trying to take away from this song, use it to try and make a difference in this world. Let his words inspire you to make their situation better. Show them there is beauty in this world.

Memory:I have chosen this song to be one of those played at my funeral. It speaks of the simple things in life which give pleasure and erases for a moment all the hurt and cruel events that are in this world. It is not a song that one hears very often these days so that it will only be occasionally that members of the family will hear and recall that time. Hopefully it will help them see this world in another light.

General Comment:I think, like many people on here that this song is just a message of hope. Despite all the starvation, poverty, genocide, and the general devastation of the world and the bad things that are happening in it, the world is a wonderful place full of beauty and we all need to take time to realize that and appreciate it.

I think there is NO cover that can ever live up to Louis, this song is simply brilliant.

And I love all the comments about people sharing the memories they have with the song, it makes me feel happy and hopeful.
