Superb. Thanks for your contribution. I'm glad I wasn't really far off anywhere besides the mid-section. Some great lyrics here. |
Enter Shikari – Stalemate Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Hey thanks for that. The first one has to be a typo in the booklet though, surely? There's no way he's singing anything but billionaires out of millionaires. Not that it matters right now though, the lyrics have been replaced beyond my power to edit them at this time! |
The Damned Things – A Great Reckoning Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The feigns of the heart = affairs of the heart. Wellness = awareness and the ending: Tonight I am ending the world Tonight I am ending the world Every night I am ending the world This is my great reckoning Otherwise Good job, amazing song. |
Frank Turner – Pass It Along Lyrics | 13 years ago |

The Damned Things – We've Got a Situation Here Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Thanks people. Seems about right now. Anyway as for the song's actual meaning, I recall reading an interview somewhere with Keith in which he discussed some of the band's lyrics. As far as I remember this song's just about...a difficult situation he found himself in one time. I don't really remember specifics, and unfortunately can't seem to find it again, but the lyrics are more introspective and personal than they first seem. Looking at them again now they do seem much more specific, like they had been tailored to describing a situation rather than discussing a broader subject matter. And obviously that fits better with the title. Well that's pretty much all I've got to contribute. |
My Chemical Romance – Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
A couple of bits and pieces for deathb4birth's post that immediately jumped out at me as being off, maybe these are closer... "Eight legs to the wall" "And I’ll keep it in a bag, in a box With an X on the floor" "Remember when you were a mad man? Thought you was Batman, and hit the party with a gas can Kiss me you animal" Chorus is pretty hard to hear because of the nananas. Good start though. |

Song about socks! Woooo |
Rolo Tomassi – Party Wounds Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Ah yeah, cheers. Fixed. :) |
Atreyu – Gallows Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Agreed. It's about fear of being successful, or fear of failing trying to achieve success. I read an interview somewhere where Alex seems to get across that he feels their last album was something of a copout, and that they maybe didn't try hard enough or get the musical style right on that record and went off-track. This song seems to speculate on why he feels like that about Lead Sails Paper Anchor. |
Enter Shikari – No Sleep Tonight Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Corrections :) And I'm thinking what's the deal With the facts that they conceal? And I'm thinking what's the harm In a bit of rhetoric and charm? And I can't quite comprehend A beginning or an end No I can't quite stomach this, no You and me we're gonna take To the skies for common sake We'll fly amongst the cirrus clouds 20,000 feet we’ll clock the crowds And from that height we'll leak the lies And unveil the damaged skies 'Cause we can't quite stomach this (All I’m trying to say is) You're not getting any sleep tonight The sun and sea could power us No longer cower in our oil lust Chernobyl is still a stain Of the dangers of this game I still can't quite comprehend A beginning or an end No I can't quite stomach this (All I'm trying to say is) You're not getting any sleep tonight We’ll embark on our great voyage to the sun And we'll be 90 million miles from anything or anyone What are we waiting for? What are we waiting for? What are we waiting for? Yeah (All I'm trying to say is) You're not getting any sleep tonight We depart for our great voyage to the sun We'll be 90 million miles from anything or anyone Just like the ocean we won’t be pacific anymore No longer in coexistence with other species, this is flawed You're not getting any sleep tonight |
Enter Shikari – Zzzonked... Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Various corrections from the booklet Mate! I'm zonked, absolutely spent I think I'm gonna give my eyes up for lent I’ll use my sockets to stock stones instead And with an icy cold stare I'll hide bones in your bed Mate! Please accept this invitation So I can take you away Cause there's a one in forty thousand chance That Asteroid Apophis Will collide with the Earth in less than twenty years (Oh my god!) Roll up for the knees up business Yes yes yes I think we’ve heard quite enough from you Instead of staring at your Stella desperately for inspiration Belt up and quiver at your indignation I ain't saying anything that can be construed as an apology There's another case study of anthropology Let's announce embargos and denounce our far foes Ingrowing egos a syntax he knows It's just distance that seperates us Or are we really all ethno-centrically inclined? Mate! What the fuck are you going on about? This is a draconian law I protest! I protest The herd is rowdy The squad is vexed |

'Baby's tearing back all couragously' should be 'Baby staring back all courageously' |
Marmaduke Duke – Rubber lover Lyrics | 15 years ago |
There are mistakes in the verses. It is Mothman. Johnny had a pink rubber lover, pinned her to the roof of his house The Mothman prophesised some good times, well maybe he's just callin' out Funky all the way home, it's regular except for the number 666 Funky all the way home, funky all the way home Girl, you're making me scream, my rubber lover Johnny had A.N.Other lover, pinned her to the roof of his house The Mothman prophesised some good luck, maybe he's just callin' out Funky all the way home, it's regular except for the number 666 Funky all the way, funky all the way home Girl, you're making me scream, my rubber lover Funky all the way home, you're making me scream, my rubber lover |

I love this song! It really grew on me great lyrics. not too sure what it means :P |
Conor Oberst – NYC-Gone, Gone Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The simplicity of this song is what makes it so great. Yeah, the lyrics aren't exactly the most complex, deepest thing ever to come from Conor. There's plenty of material by him to listen to if that's what you're after. This is something different and fun and it really works, especially live :) |
