This song was a song i wrote to Summer about just ending things... and it was a good way to end the cd by prolonging the song out and just making it all ambient and melodic... During this time of my life.. we were done dating.. but we would still visit almost every month.. and even though she was with other guys.. including the guy shes with now.. i would still come and stay a weekend with her.. and we wrote the song about just letting go of everything and ending it on good terms.. and moving on with life. |

Some of my docters said that could of been why i have been sick for awhile... for those that dont know... i have been sick for about 5 months... but im slowly getting better... "Did they set those sails for show, no they didnt!" kinda like saying i never would hit shore to stop the problem... if you read the lyrics you can relate to the drinking terms.. I was also asked to leave Farewell to Fashion because my drinking got so bad but i had already made my mind up about leaving anyways.. and the end of the song.. is kinda explaining that... "we had plans to get out west, with the future at our best" that was talking about a tour Farewell to Fashion had with My hotel year that i couldnt do because i left.. "so lets make the plans tonight, lets make everything alright, and part are ways to figure what we become" just kinda saying LATER IM OUT! Im kinda glad i left Farewell.... becuase rookie would not be where it is today... everything is done for a reason. There was this girl in Fl that ment alot to me named Summer... and i was still dating my highschool sweetheart... well this highschool sweetheart girl... was treating me bad.. she had a new group of friends... and when i was out touring there was this guy she was starting to hangout alot with... and everybody in my town called him disease paul... haha.. yeah it sucked.. anyways... knowing that thats going on.. i really wanted to just end things... but 4 years of dating... i hate change... im afraid of it... seriously... I was young a dumb.. never just dropping her.. and going with Summer.. till it was to late... i could of showed Summer alot more care if I just ended it with Jeneane (highschool sweetheart for you slow learners out there).. So anyways... i did end of dropping Jeneane and dating Summer for abit.. but ended up moving back home to NC and like all good things.. well most.. they come to a end.. and i wrote this song for Summer.. "august ill still be singing" my birthday is in august... so that means every year.... Alot of people think as Summer the month and thats cool!! i wrote it so you can have your own thoughts and feelings for this song! But listen to the song after reading what i said.. and a pretty cool story comes out of it. (oh and yes i date a girl now named Whitney the Great and shes the best, hehe shell prob read this) |
