The Honorary Title – Stuck at Sea Lyrics
|
I think it could be about him starting a relationship with a girl alot younger then him...
"You overcompensate, for you own inexperience
Don't underestimate my fear of getting caught"
or
"On the second story of your suburban home
Mom's asleep just two doors down"
..It's a little weird, and maybe he didnt mean that to be the message, but the hints are there. |

The Tetons are a mountain range in Western Wyoming and Eastern Idaho. I've grown up just about an hour drive from them; they are awesome mountains. This song is way good. |

I love it. I'm from Idaho. When you hear this song you just have to stop and listen. Its really powerful, especially because it describes Idaho so well. I definately agree with what gabbyownsme said. |

Eels – Fashion Awards Lyrics

o man I cant believe there are so few comments on this song. I think its alot about just being unhappy and about committing suicide. "we'll blow off our heads in dispair" . Now you if ever are feeling really depressed this song and "somebody loves you" are great songs to listen to. I love this song. |

O man I thought Fevers and Mirrors would be my favorite Bright Eyes album but after getting this album and hearing this song I started second geussing myself. This song is really sad and thats whats so great about it. Its about someone leaving and its about people crying and its about being stuck in life. It also has one of the best lines ever
"And when I press the keys it all gets reversed.
The sound of lonliness makes me happier."
I love that line because when I am depressed (which I ussually am) I listen to depressing music and it makes me happier. |

Bright Eyes – A Scale, a Mirror, and Those Indifferent Clocks Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
When I start focusing on how things will never really get better I get really depressed. Like some of you were saying, We start school and think I cant wait til I am done with school but once we are finished with school we just start college and then we think I cant wait til I am finished with college and then we get a job and we never get a break. We will always be doing something we dont want to do. and once we retire we will be old and in constant pain. Life sucks dick. Never any fun and if you do have fun you just come spiraling back down to regular life again. Why cant it be the other way around? Why cant the majority of life be built on fun and the minority be built upon work? well I know why, because then the world would far apart. Our earth is built upon work and unhappiness. We live off of thoughts of our vacations and our anticpation for new vacations. we spend more time thinking about good days then actually living good days. I could go on for hours... |

Bright Eyes – The Center of the World Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
I can totally relate to this song. and Once I listened to the lyrics I was pretty sure I knew what it meant. Of course it has to do with Death probably death of someone he loved
"Two pills just
weren’t’ enough. The alarm clock is going off but you are not waking up. This isn’t happening. It
is"
That line is so relative to my life it blows my mind. And he is saying that all we are is sand. and the ocean that washes us away is death. and he talks about the emptiness of death
"We sat and waited for the sea to stretch out so that we could disappear into the
endlessness of blue, into the horror of the truth. We are far less than we knew."
I Love this song. The only part that is hazy for me is what does the girl at the center of the earth represent? |

Death Cab for Cutie – Transatlanticism Lyrics

"I honestly play the song sometimes just to hear "I need you so much closer..." constantly repeating because as everyone has said before.. it is SO, SO simple yet so amazing and touching and deep and no matter whether you are experiencing something that could make you say that or not.. you feel it and you feel the meaning however you take it and it's honestly just..wow. " -OneSecondRegrets

I love RadioHead. The Bends is in my top 5 favorite album lists for sure. and Its my opinion that modest mouse doesnt do it for me. and I have nothing against the beetles. all I am saying is I cant stand crappy kids liking good music when they dont even know what its all about! thats all I am saying. Sorry if you misinterpreted it. |

you suck serious ass. and I dont know why but Modest Mouse never did it for me. They seemed crappy compared to Built To Spill and Death Cab For Cutie. and modest mouse wont be big for long. float on has floated on. But I like the killers. they have become big. and its like I said, I want them to have success, but I cant stand the same kids that just listened to Usher to throw in a Death Cab For Cutie CD and act like they have been Indie all along. I have told my friends to hear them plenty of times, but they say "no. thats crap" but if it was on the radio they would be like "hey this is awesome." and thats what bothers me. So you should try being a true Indie Musician and see where I am coming from ass hole. |

I agree, ambivalence. I can relate to it even. (with the never stop loving thing).
I had mostly heard We Have The Facts and We're Voting Yes and I heard some of Transatlanticism when I saw them. now I can sing along with every song of every album and the forbidden love EP. but I have yet to hear You Can Play These Songs With Chords. |

I just hope Death Cab For Cutie doesnt become huge, not that I dont want them to have success, I just dont want all these gay kids to like just because its on the radio or because someone else likes it. I love this osng. Probably my favorite from Transatlanticism. I love when he repeats "I need you so much closer" over and over. |

holy crap. who did you play it with?
I live in Idaho (I live about an hour or a two hour drive from Twin Falls) and there is almost 400 kids in my class. We played that game often. We also played with the parachute at P.E. like he mentions in the song. |
