I have to say this album is one of the best ever, and it starts off with this amazing song, and just gets better and better. It's a shame that Chris left to do his own things, I really would have liked to see another album, Chris' vocals and guitar playing, with amazing drums, and an alternative edge. I don't think that can be beaten. |

yeah, definitly what hugme said, "the face you'll never see the hair you'll never smell" hence because they never had the baby they never saw it's face. Not to mention the line right after that says "the little hands you'll never hold" note the word little, like a child. The fact that these guys are Chistians and most likely disagree with abortion also helps push the validity of this interpretation. |

To me it means that that person will be around, but the person singing the song refuse to be near the other, so he is square because HE won't be there if the other person is. That is just what is means to me though, but most importantly this is a great song, and everyone should listen to it. |

definitly me favorite song on Morning View, it is such a beautiful song and yet the situation it descibes is so painful. To me the song is about being in a realtionship where you give and give yet, you love is never quite reciprocated. You constantly express and show your love for your partner, yet, they never show it back, not even to appease you. |

I really don't like it when people try to figure out what an emo artist is trying to say, maybe they don't want you to know what they are saying so they write it in a way that noone understands but them. What you take from a song, let that be what the song means to you ( which is obviously what it is) and let the artist release their whatever without analzing everthing they write, that is for them to know, if they wanted us to know, they would explain each song in the jacket of the CD. Sorry I am just venting, I hate when people analyze my songs, half the time I don't know what I'm talking about (by the way, I am just some guy who like to write music and sing, but I have no album, and perform at random places at random times), that's life, which is why most of us musicians write music, to deal with what we don't understand in life. |

well, unlike some foolish unbelievers, I still think DMB is just as good as they were when they put this album out. While this is a great album to listen to begining to end, I have to say "Before These Crowded Streets" is their best album. It flows better, their abilities are better shown, they blend better musically, and it is more musically mature, that is just my opinion though. Don't get me started on the lillywhite sessions either. Just to prove they are still the same band, last year at their show in Dallas they were fined something like $15K for playing an hour longer than they were supposed to! Tell me that isn't the band that wrote Crash, and I will gladly let you know that you were listening to the wrong band to begin with. So get over it fletch7883 and go write another "Handbook for the Sellout" |

this is definitly my favorite DC song, I love all the songs, but I keep going back to this one. I really don't relate to this song right now, but everyone at one time or another has had times like the ones Chris illustrates in this kick ass song. The lyrics are great, and the vocals of the song are even better, it is awesome to listen to music where the artist puts his emotion into his music. and I am with, DCDMB, check any of DMB's lyrics I think you will be equally impressed, he writes his from the heart just like Chris. |

Emilia, just make sure you find a guy who listens to his mom, and respects and loves her(but doesn't love her too much:p) I can honestly say I am a romatic, I know a couple otherguys out there like me, you just make sure it is what you want and make sure you are looking for it. |
