i absolutely love the first 3 lines of this song..it's very poetic as it alludes to the literal (throwing away trash) and metaphoric (throwing away what was of a relationship). however, i'd have to disagree with everyone in the part that the girl is the one leaving him. i think he is the one doing the leaving and coming back. it appears he's at that point again where he wants her back and he's contemplating "what have i done?!" as it is apparent in the lines "I never thought I could want someone so much, Cause now you're not here and I'm knee deep in that old fear ,Forgive my indecision ,I am only a man"...he's scared to be alone. |

this song is good if you're in that "i wanna freak you hard and dirty"mood...there are a few lines that do possess some poetic creativity such as "I love the way you rape my skin...I feel the hate you place inside" but basically it's a great song if you feel like jamming like a porn star. |

i like the idea that flaquito had about the song being about the songwriter's son. it's a view i hadn't considered. however, my take on the lyrics is those of a person who's torn between anger and dispair for someone. he has such an obsession to be with them that he has wishful thinking of what they could be but at the same time reality hits and it pisses him off ("when you shoved it in my face"). i'm really impressed by puddle of mudd's ability to have a song about ass spanking (which also rocks) to a very perceptive song about one's obsessions. |

he's going to be there for himself and no one else. he's going to turn fear into a positive force that drives him to take control ("hold the wheel and drive") of his own life. i'm really into alternative rock lyrics. to me, it's poetry. i love to analyze them. i have to say this song has one of the best lyrics i've ever read. it stands on its own without the music. |
