this is truly a masterful and beautiful song. it instantly sinks me into a relaxed and poetic mood. i am completely void of anger and i can look at aspects of my life in a different light. The line "...we are all one mind, capable of all imagined and all conceivable" is the most meaningful and powerful statement that i have heard in awhile. i had the previlage to see Tool live so i can tell you how captivating and how charismatic Maynard is. His lyrics have inspired and influenced my own writing greatly and he is a man to be respected, to say the least. |

this song is definatly about abuse although it is not necessarily sexual. i agree with almighty ruler when he mentioned the religious possibilty but just because maynard wrote about abuse doesnt meen that he actually had the experience. this song is about the hopeless feeling associated with abuse. It speaks about the scar that abuse leaves and how all to often the victim does the same to another. |

this version of the song by far surpasses the original version. the majority of the song is amazingly relaxing and melodious while the ending is powerful and exhilerating. when i hear the line "theres no love in fear" i get such an adreniline rush. |
