King Prawn – Immigrant Song Too Lyrics

Excellent song about how ever present suspicion short changes honest people. I feel kind of bad about this one, too, 'cuz I was in the bathroom before a KP show, and Babar came in as I was washing my hands and I freaked out and left. But to be fair, Babar is pretty freaky looking. |

I'd have to say that this version is better than the Descendants version, just because the Descendants aren't around anymore. And neither band is around today, pence_is_god, but their memories live on in ALL and the Long Beach Dub Allstars |

Kid Ackley – Lousy Angela Lyrics

This song's about some sexy chick that Wade had a thing for....It also has a swingin' harmonica solo, but not on the album version. But it's still got cello, and you can't argue with that. |

Dashboard Confessional – Hands Down Lyrics

Man, I feel bad for all the posts in the middle. Nobody's gonna bother to read them.
Anyhow, Chris was spying on myself and a *friend* one night and he wrote this. I used to not know how good this song was 'cuz I just had a lousy live copy with pooy sound, but then I was listening to my ghetto-bootleg-pirated CD that my buddy burnt when we wanted to find what D/C was all about, and trying to find out what the songs were called because I lost the list. Then I fell in love with this song, despite the lousy sound quality.......I've ranted enough..... |

Kid Ackley – Uncle Jeff Lyrics
|
Excellent band with an excellent song. And I'm not just saying that because I co-wrote it (well, all I did was help with the "fat and old" part, but it's more than you did).
The song's about his friend Jeff, not about an uncle, but Uncle Jeff sounds cooler. I have an Uncle Jeff, he drives trucks, but I digress.
The song sounded best when the band had five members, the lead (electric) guitar was exquisite. But it survives as a recording only in the three peice, acoustic format. But how do you argue with a band with a cellist?
Congratulations to the six of you to read these lyrics.
Peace,
-Raul |

Counting Crows – Round Here Lyrics

I figured it was about some random small town for a long time. Some place isolated. But then I really listened and I feel that it's about Hollywood and famous people. We're all sick and tired of something....... |

This is the coolest political song I've never heard (only read the lyrics). Still, it's got a bit of somthing that Rage Against the Machin and Bad Religion are missing. Well, maybe not Bad Religion...... |

Weezer – Prodigy Lover Lyrics

Yeah, it makes sense that it's about Matt. I think that's cool. And you gotta figure, if he's written the thousand songs he says he has, they can't all be about love. No way. |

Weezer – Modern Dukes Lyrics

I've seen 'em do the song twice live, I think I was the only one who'd heard it last night in SLC. I had to check the lyrics 'cuz all I knew was "Take no prisoners" and "Storm the castle." But I think it's about a lot of these new bands *cough cough* crazytown *cough cough* who have songs that are just "I'm a jerk, but have sex with me anyways 'cuz I'm a rockstar and I don't care." I'm sure Rivers didn't write it about Crazytown 'cuz he plays guitar on one of their new songs, but that's who it made me think of. |

Weezer – Fall Together Lyrics

The magazine was Guitar World, and it was only Rivers who said the fans are "annoying little bitches [that I] avoid at all costs." He said that, though, because they always want something: explaination of a lyric, an autograph, something. You can't really deny it. He's just tired of it. And I don't think he was purely serious when he said it, either. Give the man some credit. |

Weezer – Only in Dreams Lyrics

Well guys, this business about Rivers hating Pinkerton may not be all that true. He at least tolerates it now. I saw 'em last night (no "Only in Dreams" but I'll survive, they did it last time I saw 'em), and there were four songs from Pinkerton and only three from Maladroit. Process that one.... |

Weezer – El Scorcho Lyrics

Well hey. I've heard everybody mention M. Butterfly, and I knew the album title was a reference to a character, but could someone enlighten me as to the plot, maybe? Does it have to do with the song? If so, I'm writing a song with "High Fidelity" references. *sings Social Distortion* "Story of my life, whoah..." |

Weezer – American Gigolo Lyrics

Well, I find it interesting that nobody's mentioned the title and the fact that 'hash pipe' was about a gigolo. And I really don't think it has that much to do with Pinkerton, but that's really 'cuz I didn't think about it. The "if you hate this" line, I feel, is directed at everybody who liked a previous album. Blue fans didn't like Pinkerton (at first), Pinkerton fans didn't like the Green Album (some), Green & Pinkerton fans (my friend is one) describe Maladroit as "butt rock." Every new =w= album is met with mixed emotions. |

Dashboard Confessional – Jamie Lyrics

All I have to say is that I'm going to the Enlightenment tour tonight (with both Dashboard and the Weez) and I shall personally wet myself (as opposed to someone doing it for me) if either plays it. I shall be even more excited if it's just Chris and backup vocal, maybe another guitar. The whole band thing kills it. Oh, and I'm all about the cover versions, I have tributes to the Clash, the Doors, and Duran Duran. |
