The song was rumoured to be about original bassist Nate Mendel's changing his mind about leaving Foo Fighters to rejoin SDRE. Supposedly he told Jeremy and crew that he would quit Foos to get back with them if they started Sunny Day back up, then changed his mind because he was banking so much with Dave Grohl. |

After I became christian I perceived nearly all of Mineral's songs in a different way. This song is definitely about trying to follow God. The primary lyric that causes me to say that is here: "I'm nothing more Than a grain of salt in the salt of the earth And everything is grace." The bible refers to christians as the salt of the earth... Chris says everything is grace because when you realize that God has forgiven you through his grace, it is overwhelming... every day. :) |

I think it's about Chris's mom and just missing his family in general. Growing up means you are away from your family more and more... maybe he wrote this after spending his first Christmas away from them. That would explain the lights blinking on the tree and thanking God for everything. I can scarcely believe the passion in his voice when he sings "Time is a clock ticking away, it stops my heart to think of it." Amazing, amazing. |

It seems pretty obvious through the lyrics that this song is about being cheated on... In the beginning of the song, Chris is singing about whether or not he and a girl should date. Obviously it didn't work out too well. ;) An incredible song at any rate, and a great release. It's certainly been there for me. |
