Tom Waits – Tell It to Me Lyrics

simple as hell. he's in love with a woman named louise who presumably left him. he keeps on holding on to this last hope that maybe if she comes clean, they might have a chance together |

Dan Le Sac VS Scroobius Pip – Thou Shalt Always Kill Lyrics
| 15 years ago
|
he seems to be trying much too hard on a subject he can't focus on or even come up with. this whole "think for yourself" shtick was poorly executed. the juxtaposition of music and paedophiles, girlfriends and drugs was unnecessary. it could have been skimmed and more focused, but... i didn't really expect much from this guy from his other songs. on the plus side... +1 for dan le sac |

it just sounds as if he's deifying a woman. I love the eno-esque moments in there. They're nice segues for sure. |

Leonard Cohen – The Future Lyrics

i don't think it is about any POV other than one of hopelessness of the future, and the repeition of history and the how the future is looking grim. It's more like a kick in the ass other than a song about celebration |

Bob Dylan – Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues Lyrics
| 18 years ago

this song reminds me of san francisco, maybe im just relating it to the line "I'm going back to New York City;
I do believe I've had enough." I had always thought it was what Dylan may have thought of San Francisco, for it was just a booming place with Hunter, Ginsberg, Cassady, whoever else wandering around in that timeframe. |

and if you're all done like you said you'd be
what are you doin' hanging out with me?" |

Andrew Bird – Lull Lyrics

i’m all for moderation but sometimes it seems
moderation itself can be a kind of extreme
Seriously the best line, I've never thought of moderation that way. Andrew Bird is fuckin' incredible. |

Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics

i hate tpo be posting 290, but, this song funkin blows. Straight up. i used to love modest mouse, and i still have great admirtion for theier older stuff. But this album hit bottom for me. It seems like die hard mouse fans such as i loved the old sutff, and hate they new. newbies love the new, but really could give 2 shits about the old. This is very wrong, and this made me feel disgusted, because this album wasn't good at all. IT was one of thjose shoved outt there things. |
