MC Paul Barman – MTV Get Off the Air, Part 2 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's denouement, not "de nous". She just pronounces it "denoue. ment.". It means conclusion. |
Amy Winehouse – Amy Amy Amy (Outro) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Unspeakableme, I know! If I wanted yodeling, I'd listen to Christina Aguilera... But seriously, apart from that this song totally rocks. It makes me happy :] |
Chrisette Michele – Like A Dream Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this girl's voice and singing style, I just wish she'd sing less corny songs. |
Murs – The Pain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think it's a little bit tongue-in-cheek. |
Nas – Hip Hop Is Dead Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Hip hop has become just a way to get rich. This song is really good, I like the metal-rock of the Iron Butterfly song juxtaposed with the 70s-soul sounding sample. |
Nas – Can't Forget About You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song gives me chills. It's sublime. |
Van Morrison – It Stoned Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Jelly Roll = Jelly Roll Morton, a pianist and one of "inventors" of jazz music. I guess Van Morrison is a fan :] |
Elysian Fields – Passing on the Stairs Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't think it's only rejection they're afraid of but also the fact that as soon as they start kowing more of each other, they each become just people, are no longer possibilities. Who they are isn't a mystery any longer. This song is perfect. |
Lovage – Strangers On A Train Lyrics | 18 years ago |
And doing something about it. ;) |
The Rolling Stones – You Can't Always Get What You Want Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is a comment from Dolly Dagger by Jimi Hendrix, I think it makes sense: by jersey73 on 10-01-2004 @ 07:12:33 PM This song is about Mick Jagger and Jimi's girlfriend Devon Wilson. Devon threw a birthday party for Jimi...but Devon always had a thing for Mick Jagger too. The story goes that a glass Mick was holding broke and cut his finger. Devon went over and started sucking on Mick bloody finger. Devon and Jimi had a love/hate relationship. Incidently, when that party ended, Devon ended up going home with Mick Jagger. Mick in turn wrote the song "You Can't Always Get What You Want" for Jimi Hendrix. Think of those lyrics: "I saw her today at a reception A glass of wine in her hand I knew she would meet her connection At her feet was her footloose man I went down to the Chelsea drugstore To get your prescription filled I was standin' in line with Mr. Jimmy A-man, did he look pretty ill" Ah...semi-rock and roll fueds!!! |
Curtis Mayfield – Pusherman Lyrics | 19 years ago |

King Crimson – 21st Century Schizoid Man Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Daaaaamn this song blows me away. It's so tightly composed and preformed. |
The Offspring – Want You Bad Lyrics | 20 years ago |
What a great.fucking.song. Yeah it's pretty obvious it's about a guy who wants his nice-girl to be dirty and have a little more attitude. How hot. |
Simon and Garfunkel – America Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I love how their songs are like little glimpses into random episodes of people's lives. I think this one is about two young people discovering themselves and the future, hippie-style. And Art's voice is simply beautiful. |
Mark Knopfler – Prairie Wedding Lyrics | 22 years ago |
"I gave my golden thing a gold wedding ring..." Beautiful song. Mark Knopfler's a genius. |
Led Zeppelin – What Is and What Should Never Be Lyrics | 22 years ago |
"And if you say to me tomorrow, oh what fun it all would be. Then what's to stop us, pretty baby. But What Is And What Should Never Be." I always see that line as somewhat Lolita-esque, |
The Doors – Ghost Song Lyrics | 22 years ago |
"Indian's scattered on dawn's highway bleeding Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind" Jim's very own explanation of this verse: "Me and my- ah- mother and father- and a grandmother and a grandfather- were driving through the desert,at dawn, and a truck load of Indian workers had either hit another car, or just- I don't know what happened- but there were Indian's scattered all over the highway, bleeding to death. So the car pulls up and stops. That was the first time I tasted fear. I musta' been about four- like a child is like a flower, his head is just floating in the breeze, man. The reaction I get now thinking about it, looking back- is that the souls of the ghosts of those dead Indians.. maybe one or two of 'em.. were just running around freaking out, and just leaped into my soul. And they're still in there." I think this is one of the most beautiful songs/poems I've ever heard. |
The Beatles – Michelle Lyrics | 22 years ago |
The French chorus means the exact same thing as the English one: Michelle, ma belle (literally, "my beautiful", it's a term of endearnment)/these are words that go together well. |
