Fiona Apple – Sullen Girl Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I don't know if the entire song is specifically about her rape when she was 12, but she has said in many interviews that the one specific part of the song (...he washed me ashore, and took my pearl...) is a reference to her rape. |
Fiona Apple – Slow Like Honey Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Such a sultry, sexy song. I love it. I especially like the part at the end when she says-- when i'm gone like yesterday/when i'm high like heaven/when i'm strong like music/cause i'm slow like honey, and heavy with mood |

Fiona Apple – Never Is a Promise Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This song is. so. amazing. It means so much to so many people in so many different ways. I read in a magazine article or interview (something like that) that she wrote this song when she was 15. That's insane. I can't imagine being 15 and possessing that much talent and insight. |
Fiona Apple – I Know Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I agree with everyone else...this song has such an ethereal quality to it, it's hard to find a word to perfectly describe it. My interpretation of the song is that Fiona (or whomever is the speaker) is involved in some sort of a love triangle...being the "other woman" so to speak. She knows that the guy loves her, and that in the end they will be together, but also she knows that she will have to be patient until her man realizes this and can confess and come to grips with the situation. It's a really sweet song, in my opinion. I don't see how people think it as being a sad song. |

I love this song. I think it's the best cover Fiona has ever done...her voice is so incredibly sexy. |

For those of you who didn't feel like going to the Beatle's page for the information.... Jai guru de va om is sanskrit and it means 'Gratitude to the divine teacher.' |
