Another really sad song is 'June 18,1976' by Pedro the Lion. It's about a young mother getting home with her baby from the hospital, putting the baby in it's cradle, going to the top floor of her apartment building and jumping off. Sad stuff. This song is super sad but it's an all around great song. It's pretty much self explanitory. |

On the second of this month my gramma died of cancer and I listened to this song constanty to help me, every time I listen to it I cry. It's such a great song, she was a great person and she did so much for me and my cousin. Like when our parents didn't wanna deal with us we always knew we had someplace to go (her house) and I never really got a chance to thank her for all of the things she did for me, and I always wondered what she thought of me and finally one day after she got sick she told me she loved me and she was proud. She had such a big heart and I miss her so much. I love this song. it's great. |

haha I forgot about this song and then I saw it and it reminded me of how popular this song actually made hanson, I dont know why though. This song is horrible, one of the worst I've heard. Most anyone can write lyrics like that.. "When you get old and start losing your hair"??? wtf.. stupid teenies, they never can recognize good music. |

Why does it matter what genre something is?? It's all about the music. If you like the music then great, listen to it, support the band. If not then who cares, move on. The only thing that really matters is that STD is a great band and Chris writes amazing lyrics ... whether they're emo or not shouldn't even matter. Just appreciate the music and stop trying to categorize everything. i hate that people do that, they always have to have things in a certain category. Chris says he'd rather not even have his music classified as anything but he'd rather it just be something kind of floating around. So just leave it that and start a new subject. |

I read the Alternative Press article also. Chris uses a lot of metaphors in his songs and to people who can't really see thru the lyrics to the story behind it they just see the surface of it, they think it's about an obsessive dude trying to kill sumone in an act of anger towards them but it's not that at all. It's about watching sumone destroy thier life and and you love them so much that you'd kill them to make them see that their this amazing, beautiful thing because u don't want to let them runaway from themselves. That's what I think anyway. Only Chris knows the real story behind it. <3 |
