and "i see god in birds and satan in long words" pretty much sums up my beliefs on the entire human race, including politicians, if they could be considered human so i can make this point.

i don't think it means that actually, i was kidding, i'm just mad about everything he's doing right now, renewing the patriot act, starting a war with iran, etc. but i shouldn't try to get political here...

but archers, to me at least, seemed anti-political

"the god i believe in, never worked on campaign trail"

"how darkly the dark hand met his end
he was withered and bony, exposed for a phony
but we heed the last words that he penned
haste to disgrace the traitor
do not wait till later
I don't think that you've got to pretend
I see God in birds and Satan in long words
but I know what you need in a friend
so now when I leave you, I hope I won't see you again"

R.E.M. – Supernatural Superserious Lyrics 16 years ago
I think it's describing being a teenager, and how everything seems so serious, even supernatural, when it's really superficial. Maybe Stipe is looking back on teenage woes sarcastically.

Nickelback – If Everyone Cared Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm not a scientist, but I'm pretty sure it is statistically impossible for there to EVER be a day when absolutely no person on earth dies. Even if we lived in a Utopian paradise, people have to die no matter how caring or honest they are.

This is the best ATDI song, hands down. I always kind of thought it was about medicated elderly people in nursing homes though.

10 Years – Wasteland Lyrics 18 years ago
I really love this song right now. The lyrics are some of the best I've heard in a while, and I can see how it is about the war in Iraq, but I don't think that's what it's about.

Ten Years After – I'd Love to Change the World Lyrics 18 years ago
I've loved this song forever but never knew the name of the band. This song is so catchy and political 60's style. I agree with what most of you said about it. I'm pretty sure the lyrics are right liebherk, if you tax the rich to feed the poor than they aren't rich for long.

Alice in Chains – Queen Of The Rodeo Lyrics 18 years ago
I always thought this song was just a way to get a rise out of the homophobes in Oklahoma, or something. Kingofthekats is probably right about someone else writing it, this is much more humorous and lighthearted than most of their stuff. I've only heard the live version of this though. I love where he goes "I ain't no queer, go fuck a steer."

Crossfade – Colors Lyrics 18 years ago
"Cuz I can see through you, see your true colors, cuz inside you're ugly...." Oh shit, wrong song. All of their songs sound so generic. The guys got a good voice, its just run-of-the-mill. I can't get into these guys at all, but everyone I'm around likes them for some reason. Then they got "So Far Away" a rip-off of another Staind song but they still sound like Nickelback. Chad Kroeger is possessing different bands to take over the world.

Trapt – Stand Up Lyrics 18 years ago
This is kind of a weak song from them. It doesn't stand up to Still Frame or Echo. I think it kind of ties in with Headstrong in the meaning. Headstrong was ran into the ground by the goddam radio. Too bad for that, it was a good song when I could listen to it.

Toby Keith – Courtesy of the red, white, and blue (angry american) Lyrics 18 years ago
Liberals = Pussies, Conservatives = Dicks, Terrorists/Fascists = Assholes. Pussies don't like Dicks because Dicks fuck Pussies. Assholes just want to shit all over everything. But Dicks also fuck Assholes. Sometimes Dicks fuck too much and a Pussy has to show them that. If a Dick doesn't do anything at all though, we get our Dicks and our Pussies all covered in shit.

LOL...That is from Team America: World Police, but it really is very meaningful for our situation. Converative just want to go to war and blow shit up. Liberals want peace at all cost. We need a mixture of the two so the terrorists don't win. We don't need to fight all the time and we don't need peace all the time. We need to fight when its necessary.

System of a Down – B.Y.O.B. Lyrics 18 years ago
Oh yeah, though it doesn't matter to me either way, there is no proof Saddam didn't have any "weapons of mass destruction". I mean we announced we were coming for like a month or two before we went in. That's like the police telling a crack dealer he's going to bust him, and gives him 2 weeks notice. Like he's not going to get rid of the stash (or send it to Syria). Plus, hundreds of thousands were nerve gassed by Saddam in the 90's, so how did that happen? It's all about Dicks, Pussies, and Assholes. Watch Team America: World Police...lol.

System of a Down – B.Y.O.B. Lyrics 18 years ago
For all of those bitching about the the political views of this song I have some things to say. I'm a conservative leaning libertarian and I can kind of see some bashing of both sides of the political spectrum even though I know SOAD are Marxists/Communists who I TOTALLY disagree with politically. Although no one is 100% wrong or right at any given time.

The line "Barbarisms by Barbaras/ With pointed heels" reminds me of anti-war people like Barbara Streisand and Barbara Boxer who prance around and claim to be know what they are talking about when most sane people know they don't.

The "Victorious victories kneel fo brand new spankin' deals" is probably about the no-bid contracts to Haliburton which I don't agree with but there are much bigger things going on than a little thing like that.

The "Hypocritic and hypnotic computers" and feeding us lies for the tablecloth can be interpreted as the media, with their polls going this way or that way, are just spouting an agenda they have. I tend to believe the media only shows the bad parts of the war such as the deaths and suicide bombings and never covers things like victorious battles or anything of that sort.

The chorus, to me, is about how most of the youth in America would rather worry about a party they have to go to than a war some don't really even know is going on. Or that they just think the war is a big party, I don't know.

"Kneeling roses disappearing into/ Moses' dry mouth/ Breaking into Fort Knox stealing/ Our intentions" is something I'm almost certain of. I think "Moses" means Israel. I think that this means that a lot of our tax dollars (Fort Knox = tax money) are going to fund Israel instead of funding certain needs here at home.

"Hangars sitting...crying FREEDOM" I can't get around. This is obviously making a case that we are masking a war for oil by saying its for freedom. I don't agree with this because although I don't really agree with the point of the war or the way its being fought, I think that it can't hurt to establish an ally in the heart of the middle east to help in the inevitable conflict with Islamofascist that are otherwise known as terrorists. These people are never going to stop their brutal assault on us unless we can stop them at home. They would just as soon behead an American as look at him. They want you converted or dead. Period.

I think, "We don't live in fascist nation", could be sarcastic or cynical in the fact that we're not fascist...yet. I don't agree that Bush is a fascist or a nazi, but he has made some acts and laws that are against some civil liberities. He is far from a Nazi, but the Left is also good at suspending civil liberties of those they disagree with. That of course is Communist not Fascist.

The lines "Why don't presidents fight the war?/ Why do they always send the poor?" ruin the song just a little bit. Mostly by how they are screamed out there at the end. The message is kind of confusing because I don't know any president in office who ever fought in a war, and I don't know that just poor people go to war. Most of the people I know in the military are just Southern boys from where I'm from who join because they grew up in right-wing families and they would just like to fight for whatever reasons.

So you can kind of see my beliefs and opinions there. I really do love the song though, and the political message can be swung another way anyways.

Insane Clown Posse – The Neden Game Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't like ICP at all or any of their songs. I was just remembering this one from when I was in 6th grade or something and I forgot what it was called and I wanted to read the lyrics. Although I don't like them it doesn't I'm going to throw insults at anyone who does. Its also quite funny how the people who claim to be "juggalos" or "juggalettes" seem to be of a lot higher intelligence than the people insulting them. I respect you for that.

Evanescence – Thoughtless (Korn cover) Lyrics 18 years ago
I saw them in July 2004, in Minneapolis with Seether, Three Days Grace, and Breaking Benjamin. This was by far the best song they did live. Their onstage show was a little too glitzy, and I like Seether and Breaking Benjamin a lot better live than them, but it was still a great show.

Alanis Morissette – You Oughta Know Lyrics 18 years ago
She obviously wrote this song on her period...JESUS...I like it though, and Uncle Joey has to feel like the biggest prick in the world. If you think I'm being sexist by the period thing, oh well, it brought out a lot of emotion in the song. Girls are bitches on their periods, I'm only stating a fact. "Sorry children, I just don't trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesn't die."

I always thought it was what MC had said about an abductor or something. It portrays all this innocence but at the same time tells about a mother hunting for her daughter and this kind of thing. But the chorus wouldn't make much sense if this were the case.

This song seriously kicks ass. The lyrics are probably a little screwed up, but I can't find them on the net and I can't get into their website. This songs being played all over Louisiana especially here in Shreveport cuz they're from here. The WERE getting a lot of airplay in New Orleans i heard. I'm just now getting into this band because this is seriously one of the best songs to come out in a long time. I'm gonna get the CD when I can.

Mudvayne – -1 Lyrics 18 years ago
Man this is the best song on L.D. 50. Mudvayne is a very underrated band. Such great lyrics, and the feeling that they put into their music is unbelieveable...Did anybody else ever send off to the address inside the C.D. for the lyrics? They sent me a photograph of them signed by everyone in the band. Awesome!! This was like 5 years ago though.

Creed – What's This Life For Lyrics 18 years ago
"Cause we all live under the reign of one king" sounds pretty religious to me...but what do I know? I heard (on a rare trip to church) the preacher say "God Damn" a few times in the sermon. Something about how back in the day it wasn't taking the name in vein or something. I'm not gonna get into any religious debate. I'm not really that religious but anyone who is has every right to be and not be ridiculed.

South Park – Vote Or Die Lyrics 18 years ago
Excellent song. I heard them say on some show they were tired of idea that puff daddy and mtv were forcing young voters to vote. Voters that are uninformed anyways. You have the same right not to vote as you do to vote, especially when most elections are just between a douche and a turd anyway ;-)

Tool – Hooker with a Penis Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is about capitalism, and in capitalism everyone is "the man". All you have to do is not buy into something and they are not successful. So that whiny kid yelling "sell out" was the one who made Tool famous in the first place by buying their shit. When bands start to sell more records that's a good thing, right? Why does everyone always whine about capitalism? The person trying the hardest goes the farthest. As opposed to communism where everyone is equal. Who wants to live like that and have the government up your ass at all times? Why does everyone always assume that rich people got that way through evil exploits? Tool are rich, and for good reason, they are true genius. Thanks in part to capitalism. Thank you.

Tool = much better than anyone oldschoolrocker named except MAYBE Led Zeppelin. This album is Tool's best. This song is Tool's best. That is saying A LOT. I believe that this song is about spritual evolution like some where saying. We won't be able to evolve spirtually until the Hollywood know-it-alls who want to run our lives are gone.
"Fuck L Ron Hubbard" is my favorite line just because he started "Scientology" what a dumb religion.

Good Charlotte – The Motivation Proclamation Lyrics 19 years ago
I think Good Charlotte made a mistake making this song, they must have been drunk and threw some good lyrics together and made this song because it is the only song by them that is any good. Most of their "music" sounds like fake angst lyrics mixed with crap, but this one is actually alright. I hate to admit that. They act like they are still getting picked on by those bad mean bullies and they're gonna stick it to them. Don't tell me to listen to some more of their stuff because my girlfriend listens to this crap all the time so I can give my opinion that this is their ONLY good song.

A Perfect Circle – Weak And Powerless Lyrics 19 years ago
I really enjoy this song the feel of it and everything. I agree with dackattack about the China White thing although it is pretty confusing in the way he uses it. I always thought he was using "dig in searh of China" meant trying really hard but it purposely was followed by "White as Dracula" as a clever little reference to drugs within two other metaphors. Get that? lol...I really enjoyed the Tilling My Grave version of this on AMotion.

Crossfade – Cold Lyrics 19 years ago
Am I the only person in the world that hates this song? I don't want to start an arguement or anything but this song sounds so generic. The guitar parts and the vocals sound like they've been ripped off for the third time off someone and the "so cold" thing is getting to cliche. Other than that the lyrics are pretty good but I just CANNOT stand hearing this song.
