was so disappointed when i saw him that he didn't sing this one. i think it has over taken song for a friend as my fav mraz song.

beautiful and sad song. i think its talking about a relationship from start to end. the last part is about her moving on after the seasons have changed in his heart ie he broke it off with her.
not sure but makes sense to me at the moment but i've just come out of a relationship so my opinion may be a bit biased

hey guys. not really a big afi fan (havent heard enough to call myself a fan i dont think) but i really like this song.

I think this song could be about a friend of hers who was really spoilt and had everything done for her but felt like she was so hard done by and so depressed. Then they're finally thrown out into the real world and has to do stuff for themselves and missy is telling them that really their life was pretty good and not half as bad as they thought hence unbroken. just my thoughts. |

I think its about an insecure person that she was close to or someone who was very deeply hurt and suffering a kind of depression. And because of this they tend to block others out and put on this tough face. however, i think missy knew the person before they became like this and is trying to explain that she can see that they are hurting and almost going backwards.
the dancing dirt into the snow i think refers to not being happy and maybe trying to be rid of the snow as its a sign of change?!
I'm not sure if i'm on the right track but thats what i get out of it. |

i'm from australia and they play the real version of this on the radio but an american chart show was on and they played dont mess with my heart! i dont understand whats wrong with phunk...anyone else able to explain it to me? also...if censorship is so strong over in the states, why dont BEP release a cleaned up album and a real album? i dont know.... good song though =) kinda fun but i agree with silversnb in that shes worried that the guys only in it for the physical not the whole package and just playin to get the physical. will.i.am is awesome!! hehe |

this song is so beautiful for the emotion behind it when she sing it. i think its a sad song abuot someone about to break up with her and she doesn't want to lose them (understandable) but i think that it also may have something to do with that special someone having a substance abuse problem for the references to falling and dying and that their perception of the world has diminished. soo soo beautiful...and great to sing along to in the car at the top of your lungs after an average day at uni..... |

i totally agree with lauraloo except that i think its about losing someone close in that they died. the line "If things get real for me down here.." sort of alluded me to this meaning of the song. i always thought it was a beautiful song but i only just listened to it properly and came up with that idea. and i reckon that it ties in completely with all that lauraloo has said above this. i think the sound of white is a metaphor for someone's spirit. |

this song is awesome coz it kinda breaks the punk mould and in many ways is quite positive... i'll explain.
its positive because it preaches the fact that you hafta be yourself and not anyone else. it also tries to tell people that money isnt everything and kinda implies that more should be given to charity.

to me, whenever i hear this song i think about a "friend", who ditched most of the people who cared for them, to be cool and hang out with their partner 24/7 and lose anyone that was not "in" with them.
to me its a song about a person who ditches those that care for them to be cool and doesnt realise how they are isolating themselves from the world to the extent that they dont realise the real people that they are hurting.

i've heard both the studio and the live version with fred durst and i have to say that the live version is the better one. there is so much emotion in aaron's voice especially live. i agree with those that say its about an ex. its kinda that he just took off his rose coloured glasses and saw her for the person she really is. and to the person above...i think the "tomorrow will be ok" is about the fact he has woken up to this lie and he can now just try to move on....who knows!? i first heard this song when a couple of friends covered it at an acoustic night coz they are die-hard incubus fans and it stuck in my head for so long (as did mexico) that i had to borrow my friends cd before buying my own. i was lucky i guess to get the live version on a bonus disk.
i think that others have basically summed up the song but to me its just when everything gets so overwhelming and u just really want an escape from it all. |

reading other posts for the newer staind songs i agree with all the above comments but i also think it could be that yeah his life has had its ups and downs (mentioned more so on BTC) and its on an up now with his wife and daughter he obviously loves and he is so happy with life and everythings going right and he feels like hes in a dream and yeah as said before by many others he doesnt want to be woken from this great dream and hes over all the bad things from his past.
