| I love this song and it has soo much meaning for me. The first time I heard this song was 5 minutes before I got a call from the the parents of my friend that had just died in a car crash. I was devistated, and I got so upset. I thought it was the wierdest thing that I heard the song and it made me think of him so I started to call his house. Everytime I hear this song I can only imagine what it was like for him in those few moments before his death. Please, always wear your seatbelt, he would have lived had he been wearing his. :( | |

| This song is so beautiful. I love it. To me it's about a girl who is singled out, she's not like everyone else. And she likes this guy be he's just another face in the crowd. At first I don't think he understands her and he isn't like her but then he decides that he wants to be different. He wants to be with her. | Um, sorta. Someone who is a star, whether it be a pop star or rock star or actor, etc. I take it in a personal refrence to Metallica themselves. I mean, everybody is like, "Metallica is gay, they suck now, they're so over" when really they're not, they still make albums, and I don't think they'll be over for avery long time if not never. And What makes me take refrence to them is the' "and can't the band play on, just listen they play my song. Ash to ash, dust to dust, Fade to Black." they refer to their song Fade to Black. Prodigal is right, it is about addiction to drugs. It's obvious with the way Jaymz uses metaphors. Okay, I have several things to say... Metallican41: You have some nerve calling Metallica's lyrics weak. And Fade to Black is NOT all over the place. It's about suicide. Yes, the band's equipment was stolen but the song is about suicide, and severe depression. Seven: I'm not going to call you a poser because you might not be, but if you listen to Metallica, get you albums straight. Fade to Black is on Ride the Lightning, not And Justice For All. And Justice For All is my fav album though. osu_cowboy2000: Okay, how could Jaymz have written a song about Cliff's death when he was still alive? The song To Live Is To Die is about Cliff's death. Almost all of it is just instrumental but the quote that Jaymz says is in fact Cliff's. And NewFoundFinch, I'm not even gonna start with you, you suck ass and are full of shit. But, it is suicide to leave an abusive relationship, whether it be a parent/child one or a boyfriend/girlfriend one.
