zipped - these are the lyrics from the original song, released in 2000. on the 2001 major label release of the album, coca-cola made them change that word. however, the "naked" is the original lyric and that's still what brandin sings live.
btw, i intepret this songs in different ways at different times, but one meaning i think is that he's singing about how things can get so complicated and messed up and sometimes you just wish it could go back to the simplicity it had before, i.e. solving the world's problems just by buying them a drink.
flickerstick deliberately makes their lyrics vague, allowing them to apply to a lot of situations and not always be too personal.

this is an incredibly catchy song that i always have people ask me about when i play it at parties. plus it's kinda becoming the song for the guy i'm dating and me. although i think it's more of a faraway obsession that's talked about in this song than someone he knows very well. |
