The Smiths – This Charming Man Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Hmmmm, I agree with the metaphors of the bicycle and the charming car, however with the "Return the Ring" lines its This Charming Man giving him advice, which only works with the theory that the protagonist is the charming man, otherwise its him giving advice to the cyclist... I just see it that way is all... The Death Cab and Braid Covers are alright, but donut compare to the original. |
The Smiths – Pretty Girls Make Graves Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Hmmm, with the lines "I'm not the an you think I am" it does leave openings for it to have some reference to Homosexuality... This Charming Man is also frequently thought to have the same gay theme, but not in the same way. The first comment to this nailed it pretty well I think. The fact that Morrissey was Asexual makes me happy. 'Cause it proves you can go against nature and still be wicked cool. Whoo hoo |
The Smiths – This Charming Man Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Impressionable young man. Need I say more... I think the lyrics are really speaking for themselves... But besides that... its a beautiful song. |
The Shins – Caring Is Creepy Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Eh, I've always seen it as the point of view from someone old and very rambly. Rambling on about things that pertain to their situations and their life, but the person they're talking to has no real clue what they're saying. All of this stuff makes so much sense when applied to real life, and other stuff just seems like its coming out of nowhere: "All these squaking birds won't quit." If you've ever listened to someone incredibly smart, and incredibly out of it talk, you'll know what I mean. The title? Caring is Creepy. Like everything that's said in the song is meant as advice, and is jsut pased off, like a youngster listening to his war veteran grandfather talk.... Caring is creepy. Such an interpritation I'm sure isn't correct, but oh well I say! Oh well. |
HIM – Poison Girl Lyrics | 21 years ago |
So passionate. I love. |
The Cure – Where the Birds Always Sing Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Its baisically explaining the way things really are. I think it kinda shows things on the broader picture. Things happen, crap happens and you think its the world out to get you, but it really isn't. Its just the way things work, no one really has it out for you, nor is anyone REALLY preventing stuff from happeneing (on a larger level). Life doesn't play revenege, or play favorites, things just happen, and we make these ideals to try to deal with it. And it works for most people. But its also saying how improving things, making the best, appriciating what you have also doesn't always happen. Everyone wants something more, something perfect. This ideal that's unattainable. To me the song puts things into perspective. |
Mindless Self Indulgence – Clarissa Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Eh, doesn't sound like days of the week. I think its "Another teenage bitch" |
The Cure – Lovesong Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Its not depressing... its... melencholy... there's a difference... Oooh, the tune has emotion.. its bursting with it.. |
The Cure – From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Uhh... I dunno... I mean, the literal meaning behind it would be the love he's given up on, doesn't love anymore... however, if you look deeper, the more abstract meaning, the meaning that takes more digging to find is the dedication to the drowned lover... but I can see how that works... I love the lines And looks down at my breaking face "Why do you cry? What did I say?" "But it's just rain" I smile Brushing my tears away... |
Gin Blossoms – Hey Jealousy Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Hmm... love the song.. my friend insists he says "Hey Chelsea".. could be because her name's Chelsea. ;) Anywho... yeahl I quite like the song... especially the "If I hadn't blown the whole thing years ago, I might not be alone". I'm sure everyone feels like that at some point, and it fits in with the whole song, which is almost like.. not an apology... an explanation, a story... Hurrah. |
The Cure – Why Can't I Be You? Lyrics | 22 years ago |
HA! So do I. I love it, I loe, it, I love it I do. This proclamation of Lovlyness for this person, how great they are and then the oh so lovely unpredicatable Why can't I be you? :D I love! |
Ours – Dracula's Bride Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Not "Pulled from this string" its "Pulled from this dream" I looove this song... I really Wish They'd re release some stuf off Sour.. Makes me sad. :( |
Aqualung – Strange And Beautiful (I'll Put A Spell On You) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Hmm... I can't find anything else anywhere buy these guys... However, I like this song, because even though its melancholy, even though there's that horrible undertone of unrequited love, there does seem to be hope, but its not really like a blind hope. Its almost sure. Not sure the loe will be returned, or he'll get the girl, but he knows his love is there. That's what's for sure... To me, its almost like you can see a sad quiet smile emitted from his lips... I dunno, I htink my attempt failed... |
Ours – Lotti Di Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Byt the way its "Then I'll purge your words tomorrow, then I'll throw you away" |
Ours – Dizzy Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Masterpiece is the best way to describe... I don't even remember posting that... They get no airplay in Canada either. So bunk. |
Ours – Sometimes Lyrics | 22 years ago |
And not waste time with people fucking with you. Thus the "giving up on the ones.." |
The Cure – Just Like Heaven Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I've never really seen The Cure songs as superficial... If anything, they're possibly the one band who's lovesongs I can stand and I thinm ean something. (I'm not big on love songs at ALL). They're so unsuperficial to me. I knew this song was about losing someone, but I didn't know it was so literal. I like the juxtaposition. The music is so lovely, but the story is so sad... I love. |
Ours – Sometimes Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Oh yeah, I mean i wasn't saying it was neccessarily Jimmy Speaking, or telling a sotry or whatever... |
Ours – Dizzy Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I don't care. |
Ours – Miseryhead Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I disagree... I don't think they sound "depressed" more.. I dunno... this harsh realistic that's sad.. its like a raw emotion thing. Jimmy. *swoon* |
Bush – Machinehead Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Darth Vader? HA HA HA! If we want to go that wat out we can say the breath in breath out is about a fish with gills... But I digress. I think its about a car.. or driving. Or riding hella fast... No love in THIS one I think.. at least not between two people. |
The Get Up Kids – Action and Action Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Hmmm... I agree. I love this song. I think its about a relationship. Past one. No regrets really, about the breakup, just osme elnghtenement about what went on. |
Ours – Meet Me In The Tower Lyrics | 22 years ago |
What dreams may come. I love this song.. havn't really dissected it yet.. but soon, I will soon. i like o enjoy i first. Every drop. :) |
Ours – Sometimes Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Really? Cool. I adore Ours. Distorted Lullabies is my favorite CD of all time.. I'm going to marry Jimmy Gnecco. :) The pain that he incoperates into the music isn't a gross sad "depression" its this beautiful raw feelings tha's bared for all to see. By the by, I think it's "WHO Gave up on me" not "Who'll give up on me" I think this because... it sounds like it already happened. To me its like, he was abandoned, pr scrwed around with by some people, friends or something. And before he just clung onto them, begging forgiveness, trying to make it better, doing everything he could to remedy the situation. But now its just like a "screw it". An "I won't hang around, i won't do anything. They gave up on me. So I m giving upon them". I mean, I'm not saying that actually happened to him. I think it either, happened when he was younger, or he's realting a situation. I don't know. That's what happened to me though. I mean, I "gave up on the ones who gave up on me", so that's why it means that to me. I bet you didn't read that! :) |
Silverchair – Ana's Song (Open Fire) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Hmmm.. well I just figured out yesterday is was About anorexia. like how its likened to a person. Because not everyone's experianced Anorexia, but most people have experianced that knid of person who you need, and its a sick need, its desperate, you know its bad you still need it. And its not even a person tha's always like that. It can be a drug or a thing. So I like how it was put in the form of a person, because it makes you able to understand it better I think, because you can relate it to whatever made you feel like that. |
Ours – Drowning Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This is possibly the most beautiful song ever known and created. |
Ours – I'm A Monster Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Meh. I read anexplanation thingy by Jimmy Gnecco... but I mean, songs are really what we get out of it. Ours is possibly my favorite band ever. Scratch that. Is. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Bullet with Butterfly Wings Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Heeey, I think its a combination of both the anger thing and the POW thing... well kinda, i think there's areally likely chance of both... To me it shows no matter what you do sometimes you're still caught in that situation and there's NO WAY out of it and its so damn hopelsss, but you can't do anything but get mad etc. I think at the end with "and I still believe that I canno be saved" is kinda like, not an acceptance of the situation, but realizing what it is and the fact that you're frantic won't save you. Nothing really will. Meh, that's jsut me. |
Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics | 22 years ago |
...Well, I mean, as with anything, there's the intended meaning and the personal meaning.... I think it has more to do with emotions etc. I also thought it was about drug use, but hearing other opinions kinda made me realize etc. what it could be about and what it IS about. To me, its more of an emotion thing, even if that's not the intended meaning... |
A Perfect Circle – Diary Of A Madman / Lovesong Lyrics | 22 years ago |
The song's two osngs put together, so I don't think the two meanings of the songs are suppossed to cross... I mean, to me anyway... This is probably the best cover song I have ever heard. Diary of a Madman and Lovesong are two of may favorite songs. I adore the Cure, and to have APC do a cover is bliss. Pure bliss. |
The Hives – Hate To Say I Told You So Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Mwah. reminds of me of spite, and taht whole 'HA HA" feeling that feels so damn good. They remind e of the Strokes. I like the Strokes. |
Travis – Blue Flashing Light Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I think its about abuse... And how everyone's content to be on the outside, but they need all the information still... Nosy buns of snitches |
Stabbing Westward – Torn Apart Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Forgetting. Loseing yourself, the world's gone, its "torn apart", and you're left with nothing. Absolutly nothing, except this instense pain that can't gt any worse, and all you can do is wait for it to subside. |
The Goo Goo Dolls – Big Machine Lyrics | 22 years ago |
LYRIC ERROR! Its' "Still in love with all your sins" But I think Bee Happy was onto something there.. I have nothing to expand. |
Billy Joel – All For Leyna Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This damn obsession. You know its unhealthy, you know you're being treated like crap, but all this is almost a subconcious thing. All you're really sure about is the enveloping feeling of love that nothing can destroy. its a pain. I pity anyone in this situation. Poor suckers scrwed over. |
Mundy – To You I Bestow Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Luuuv this song. |
Millencolin – No Cigar Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Hey, I love this song, and Millencollin all together. Not only is it just spilling with this huge message "I won't waste my time fitting in", the music is amazing. I loved it the first time I head it, and once I knew the lyrics I loved it even more. |
Fuel – Mary Pretends Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Its this total hysteria. She's not insane, she's pretending because all the hurt becomes just a figment, just some little prick that's there and she can see it, she can laugh at it even though its tearing apart her insides... Hysteria. |
Big Wreck – That Song Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Hey I think I understand what this song's about... but won't post because I'm not sure... I do loike this song muchly though... I think one of Big Wreck's best |
David Gray – This Year's Love Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Makes me want to cry, in a pretty way.... I mean a pretty emotional way... that such a person exists in the world as to write such beautiful words. Not a sad cry thing... its a beautiful song. |
Finger Eleven – Slow Chemical Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I agree... But I think it kinda sucks it was used for a WWF thing.... *shudder* |
Elton John – Tiny Dancer Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I like the song, Elton John,.. ehh... can't stand some, like others, like this one... No comment I guess... I have atiny dancer in my head. |
Stereophonics – Mr. Writer Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Nothing to say about the meaning, just thought I'd comment on how much this song rocks. It rocs my clock. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I think it might have something to do with d rug use.. not a justification, but questioning an addiction maybe... |
Fenix TX – Threesome Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This is the only Fenix TX song I know. I have no comments on the lyrics, I jsut really like the song. |
The Goo Goo Dolls – Name Lyrics | 22 years ago |
That line "scars are souvenirs you never lose" managed to make my life a mess, because my friend misinterprited it when I was writing random lyrics down.. he thought it was all me... Anyway, this song is a masterpiece of amazing levels. I think that one line is kinda sarcastic, mocking what once happened... a certain sarcastic bitterness... |
The Doors – Break on Through (To the Other Side) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
The Doors movie's not too accurate... if you're interested in the Doors and Jim you should read "Light My Fire" by Ray Manzarek, and the biography of Jim Morrison "No one here gets out Alive". I suggest you read no one here gets out alive first because it'd be boring after reading light my fire. Its more factual, whereas Light my Fire was written by the keyboardest so you get a very good inside look at the type of person Jim was. The song's about drug use. |
Millencolin – Fox Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I adore Millencolin. At first I thought this song was about a woman, because I didn't know all the words.. .then I realized what its really about and felt stupid. :) |
The Cure – Lovesong Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I don't really see it as depressing... its like.. this beautiful sadness that erupts, but there's nothing really sad about it. Like when you cry when aomeone says "I love you", and you know its true. Its like showing sadness for some of the beauty it can posess. I mean the music, the lyrics are the kind of thing that would provoke those tears. |
Ours – I'm A Monster Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This song is NOT about a child custody battle. Its about a kid who'd being picked on and bullied, he decides to stand up for himself and fight back and feels worse for it, thus the "I'm a monster" |
