weezer and many other bands best friend "mykel and carli" who ran fan clubs and basicly did alot for bands died on the way to a weezer concert in a car crash in 96, this song is dedicated to them as there moto was "hear you me" the lyrics basicly descirive all the sisters did for the band, and how they never got to say thankyou......

i kinda like the maladroit version of this better, the lyrics are pretty poor on this one. but in both cases the song is about not listning to what other people say and just having fun. a happy ending to maladroit i think |

a pretty confidant sounding tune with negative lyrics, in true weezer fashion. obviously about river's recent complecitys and his depression, pretty simply put, he feels a "loner" and hes sick of seeing his love "walk straight to youre door" he wraps this feeling up simply stating "there ain;t no hope for me anymore" poor rivers |

well i think this is conveying river's frustration about how simple relationships should be, but how complicated they turn out. the "how stupid is it...." bit shows this cleary, and as most of these bits in weezer songs (egh "dear daddy...." in say it ain't so, they convey the complicated feelings as simple as possible. at one point he is even shouting "for all i know you want me to" which is a very frustrating thought. and the obviouse referances to maddame butterfly back up this pain and frustration |

well i think its rivers adressing himself concerning his recent (pinkerton) depression. he says that if he "want to go and bust rhymes real slow" (go away from rock and make sad songs) then he'll "slap" him out of it. i'm not sure though |
