Wow, can't beleive this turned into a emo slap fight.... figures. First off, when did this site turn into "who can prove who wrong about the lyrics" I thought it was about what YOU think the lyrics mean and how they make YOU feel. Typical 15 year old myspace emo kid crap spewed from the mouths of kids with black hair draped over one eye taking cellphone pics in the mirror of their 5 bedroom house and posting them on their webpage. I think Desaparecida has it right. I Think the part with "She whispers in his ear, don't hurt me, don't forget me, don't hurt me, I'm still not properly together" may have be in reference to a girl who was raped or abused. Unfortunetly, in my line of work, victims of that seem to look at themselves as "damaged goods" or have no value to life anymore. It just seems like someone who looks at the world as a life or death situation, hence the Black and White reference. Its a very powerful song indeed. |

I think this song is about a dream or the realization of death. Its almost as if he died and is looking down on all the people he took for granted in his life. That even though relationships have come and gone, would he have wanted to know in advance? All the experiences in life would have been pointless if you already know how they end. Now that he can't have those relationships anymore, he regrets wishing he never had them to begin with. Its almost a "thank you" to those who have been in his life, good or bad. |

In my opinion it seems to be a break up song... but that's just what I'm getting the begining throws me off a little but I think it's about a break up that is long time coming and how much it sucks waking up and having it be a beatiful day when all you want is to feel like shit and have everything around you look the way you feel. It's about a relationship that went on for too long... it wasn't exactly a bad one it just didn't have any life to it anymore... that's kinda what it means to me... but I could be waaay off. About 2 months ago my grandfather died. he was an exceptional man and he taught me so much and i never got the chance to thank him. i had this song played at the funeral, in way i think that let him know what he meant to me. it was a very powerful moment to my entire family. also my 66 year old grandmother is as big a J.E.W. fan as i am! |
