Sucre – When We Were Young Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'm still trying to decipher certain parts of it, so if any of you know what I'm missing, please share so I can fix it. |
Eisley – Please Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think she's saying "let's make this one count" instead of "let's make this work out." Great song, though. Who hasn't felt this way before? |
Eisley – Mr. Moon Lyrics | 13 years ago |
So sad, yet so beautiful. I love the line, "i might console you, but look at my sisters brilliant like fireflies up in their bedroom." |
Eisley – Sad Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The line, "He closed his eyes and said 'I'm feeling torn'," should be "You closed your eyes and said, 'I'm feeling torn.'" |
Eisley – Watch It Die Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I'm pretty sure about all of it except the second verse. I couldn't catch some of it. Feel free to correct me. |
Eisley – Smarter (Album Version) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Changes submitted, Polaris22 :) Thanks for giving me input. |
Eisley – Oxygen Mask Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I tried. There were a few lines that I couldn't decipher but I did my best. Feel free to correct me and I'll change them. Cute song any way you put it. Love those girls, and guys. |
Eisley – Smarter (Album Version) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Love love love this song. I was a little unsure of some of the lyrics in parentheses but its pretty close if it isn't accurate. |
Sharon Van Etten – Love More Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I love this song and this woman so much. Just saw her in Houston and she's amazing. |
Evan and Jaron – I Could Fall Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Seriously, no comments? This was one of my favorites from the album, and I still really love it. It sends a good message, I think. When you really have it for someone, you've just gotta dive in and see where it goes, even if it turns out badly. I've always been that way and most people don't seem to understand it but it's nice to know that someone gets it. |
Paramore – The Only Exception Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I have to say that I'm not a Paramore fan. Well, I'm not a fan post-All We Know Is Falling. I just think that they're completely overrated, but I really like this song. I don't care for the melody, to be certain, but the lyrics are lovely. I can honestly say that I've felt this way for most of my life. My parents divorced when I was 6, and my mom has married many time since then. I feel that I'm a little jaded now, and that I'm really afraid of commitment and really trusting someone. So anyway, I just think that this song is pretty fabulous. |
The Gaslight Anthem – American Slang Lyrics | 14 years ago |
There are no words for this song. It is brilliant. |
Harper Blynn – Loneliest Generation Lyrics | 14 years ago |
If I got the lyrics wrong, I apologize. I didn't have much to go on. These guys are amazing, though. I saw them at SXSW this year and fell in love. |
Mandy Moore – First Kiss Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Uhh this is i5, not Mandy Moore. |
Coconut Records – Drummer Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Love love love this song. Davy is an amazing album. |
Phantom Planet – Ship Lost at Sea Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Just saw them live twice last week and Alex said that the last line really meant a lot to him. |
Phantom Planet – Raise The Dead Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this song is about reviving their careers (although they never really disappeared) and reminding them that they have to be united, as a band and as friends. |
Phantom Planet – I Don't Mind Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is amazing. Though its a rather simple song, there's just something so sad about it. I guess its something that we've all felt at one time or another. |
Phantom Planet – Geronimo Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm guessing that Geronimo is the safe word. |
Jack's Mannequin – Annie, Use Your Telescope Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I just think its about being there for someone you love, no matter when or where you're needed. |
Jack's Mannequin – Hammers And Strings (A Lullaby) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is simply beautiful. "Andy, I know That we don't talk as much But I still hear your ghost In these old punk rock clubs Come on, write me a song Give me something to trust Just promise you won't let it be The keys that you touch." Gets me every time. |
Megasus – Red Lottery Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The song was inspired by Shirley Jackson's short story, "The Lottery." It's about a small town with a lottery tradition in which someone picks the slip with the black dot and gets stoned to death. |
The Rocket Summer – Run To You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I don't think it's necessary to say that just because he admits to wrongdoings that he was unfaithful. Before recording this album he was severely depressed, so maybe it's just stating that even though he's been down and out and he's hurt people that love him, he knows that he can still run to them (his wife, etc.) and they will understand and forgive. It could possibly be about God, as well. It seems open to interpretation. |
The Apathy Eulogy – Such a Complex Situation Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"it's a peaceful type of heart attack you give." love that line. |
Eisley – Ten Cent Blues Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The end actually says: A stranger and a happy fit So glad I'm a part of it And that I saw it all |
Eisley – I Could Be There for You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is actually the album version: She's made of sulfur in the night All her friends say Ring ring ring ring, where are you hiding? Ring ring ring ring, where are you hiding? Would you open your door? Oh, would you open your door? I could be there for you Oh, I could be there for you I could be there for you I could be there for you, oh You're part mystery And partly drawn, drawn to all things breathing So ring ring ring ring, keep on breathing Ring ring ring ring, keep on believing If you open your door, oh Would you open your door? I could be there for you Oh, I could be there for you I could be there for you I could be there for you, oh Could someone please walk through with me? I've got nothing to hide, nowhere to be Why do we have to come through here 'Cause nothing leads me to you 'Cause you are nothing what you seem You're always looking out for me You are nothing what you seem You're always looking out for me You'll never contemplate that I am near And help goes unseen You're the cave admitting who you choose And I could be there for you I could be there for you I could be there for you, oh I could be there for you I will be there for you, oh |
Spring Awakening – My Junk Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I see. I got lazy on some of these that I wasn't too fond of and copied them from allmusicals.com. They had the names listed above. Thanks for clearing it up, though. |
Spring Awakening – All That's Known Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Cool, vsaturn, thanks. I couldn't hear the background stuff so well. |
Joanna Pacitti – Screaming Infidelities Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love Dashboard. Although her voice sounds great on the song, I just can't support it. It just doesn't have the same meaning. Blasphemy. |
Brandi Carlile – Cannonball Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song. It's absolutely beautiful. |
Brandi Carlile – My Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"I'm too proud to beg for your attention and your friendship and your time, so you can come and get it from now on." Brilliant. |
Brandi Carlile – Turpentine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"But I'm warning you, we're growing up." I feel that everyday. Perfect line. |
Brandi Carlile – The Story Lyrics | 17 years ago |
She is fantastic. I'm so in love with her now. Her voice is perfect. Really, it is. |
Pink – Dear Mr. President (feat. Indigo Girls) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Personally I think this song is extremely hypocritcal. I agree that the President hasn't done much to help our nation and universally, as well, but what has she done? I think it's unfair to put the blame solely on one person when no one else is doing anything to help either. Plus, I doubt that she knows much about hard work. Her family was never destitute and she's probably never had to work minimum wage with a baby on the way. It's a useless song. |
Jack's Mannequin – Holiday From Real Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I thought he was saying "so I can score an eight" meaning an eight ball (cocaine). I'm pretty sure that's what he means. |
Jack's Mannequin – Katie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I just saw them last night, too, and it was perfection even though he swore he was going to fuck it up. |
Jack's Mannequin – Last Straw Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I just saw them last night and he said the song was about a girl that he had broken up with and a friend of his called to tell him that he saw her and she looked better than ever. So he drank for two days and wrote this song for her. |
The New Amsterdams – From California Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is such a beautiful song. It literally helped me get over some things so I could move on and I'm happier than I've ever been. |
Katie Melua – I think it's going to rain today Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Well, "Beaches" is one of my favorite movies and I think she did a stellar job covering Bette Midler. |
Alanis Morissette – Eight Easy Steps Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think its just a self portrait, so to speak. She's just naming off the things she's done in the past, or maybe just things that she currently does and wants to defer other people from doing. The line, "I'll show you how leadership looks when taught by the best ," is supposed to signify that she's the master of all of these things. It is put into the form of a speech. |
Britney Spears – Everytime Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Well, I like the song. I like the video. It's not cliched and it's not just dancing around and shaking your hooters. It has meaning to it, and for once, I'm really proud of her. So what if it's controversial? That's what she bases her career around, and she got you talking about her, didn't she? So, I guess she's accomplished whatever she set out to do. |
Creed – I'm Eighteen (Alice Cooper cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
What does it matter who they cover? They're not worthy of anything they've been given. They're nothing but hypocrites and Scott Stapp can't sing anyway. He has no right to be acting like a fucking rock star and then not even appreciate his fans or God, who are the only ones responsible for him getting anywhere. The guy needs to shower and rethink his pathetic life, and then maybe I'll give him a break. |
Don McLean – American Pie Lyrics | 21 years ago |
actually, carly simon's "you're so vain" was not written about mick jagger, james taylor, or warren beatty. it was written about someone named nick. and the plane that buddy holly died on didn't have a name, but a number N3794N. |
Incubus – Warning Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i don't think it really matters about the significance of 10:24. if incubus thought it was something we needed to know to further understand the song, they'd have said something, don't you think? maybe 10:24 was just a time they all agreed on, or maybe its someone they know's birthday, or maybe someone died on that day or something major happened at that time. who knows? i, personally, have come to believe that it is a bible reference, as was mentioned above. but it really doesn't matter to me. the song is great and has a true message, and 10:24 shouldn't change a damn thing about it. rock on. |
Nick Carter – Do I Have To Cry For You (clip) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
haha is he kidding? oh my gosh. i haven't smelled this much horse sh*t since i took a trip through kentucky. what a dumbass. |
Jennifer Love Hewitt – Barenaked Lyrics | 22 years ago |
As much as I despise Jennifer's cheesiness and the fact that she should ONLY be singing and not acting, I do like this song. I'm not a fan of any of her earlier stuff except for "How Do I Deal?". I really hope she goes far as a singer, however. She's good. Just please, someone tell her to never act again. |
Josie And The Pussycats – 3 Small Words Lyrics | 22 years ago |
the movie sucked ass. it really grabs my onion when people can't keep the storyline straight. none of that bull happened on the cartoon. it was a good cartoon and they ruined it by trying to make people that looked NOTHING like the original characters (i.e. Rachel Leigh Cooke) convincing, and thus making it so modernized made it ever stupider. The music was great, seeing as how Josie's lyrics always sucked, so it was a good move on the music. But people need to learn not to mess with a good thing. |
Neve – It's Over Now Lyrics | 22 years ago |
in the first verse, he keeps expecting her to be more than what she is. its like he keeps needing more from her, but she can't give it. in the second, its about how she never tries to make him any better, because she know she can't be better herself. and he doesn't want to leave her, doesn't want it to be over, but its what he needs. in the third, she wakes up to realize that she needs him, too, but he can't take her back because he knows he'll never be satisfied with her, that she'll never be able to fullfil all of his needs. she's painfully aware of the reality that she is living, and now knows that some things just can't be changed. thats what i think anyway. |
Our Lady Peace – Innocent Lyrics | 22 years ago |
come on. what are we complaining about? this is childish and stupid. who cares who has been a fan longer than anyone else? just be glad that they have fans and haven't become sellouts quite yet. i've been a huge fan for a long time, too, but do you see me whining about someone who only likes them for their commercial success. who gives a shit. grow up. |
Rooney – Popstars Lyrics | 22 years ago |
yeah, /r/ooney freaking kicks my arse! they're amazing! been a fan for awhile now, and i'm glad to see them getting some play! whoohoo for them! find me on AIM, wimpyemokid. |
