Radiohead – Lift Lyrics
|
It's about a kid that's in an elevator that's stuck - "You've been stuck in a lift" - and how serious it seems to them, like the world stopped and as going to end because they didn't know any better. They need to lighten up as it says at the end. We all take things way too serious at the moment of jeopardy. |

Rayland Baxter – Yellow Eyes Lyrics

Needs a correction - at the beginning of the 3rd verse it should say," So you rolled the dice, melt the fire, burned the ice.". I really love the juxtaposition of the lyrics there. |

Dubstar – Stars Lyrics

@[Iscariot:28839] Uh, NO, they did not. I just excitedly checked it out on your suggestion. I think you would have to be VERY predisposed to Lacuna Coil to agree. Are you related to the keyboardist or something? |

Adalita – Perfection Lyrics
|
"Oh a fantasy makes it's own light" - this is her song to the perceived "perfection" of the person who she has become intensely infatuated with. She is enveloped in that fantastical beginning of a relationship where it is so blinding that you only see a person's unique beauty. The cracks in their facade and their human failings are not evident as of yet. To quote Bane," Now is not the time for fear. That comes later." |

Mating Ritual – Drunk Lyrics

Right there in the chorus - all we all want is someone to be there for us when we need them, irregardless of the cause of the situation. |

M. Ward – Vincent O'Brien Lyrics
|
@[geewyatt:28539] I feel that this song falls into a specific situation that inspired Ward to write the song. I feel most songs lyrics are either hyper specific or general - general trying to capture a great wide swipe of the shared human experience. This makes them easier to relate to and more able to apply to the listener's own life. |

Walk the Moon – Jenny Lyrics

@[NooContact:28508] Lucky Jenny - catching the eye of such a classy, young suitor and sending him in such a tizzy. "Selected for some timely hot summer love"...jolly good show! |

Wingtip – Walls (featuring Delacey) Lyrics

|
"And I know you moved out last week
But I can feel you in the walls"
That is an AMAZING line. We can all feel that line. Song meaning is right there. |

This is a great pop nugget - with a dark underside. Really hope she is given the chance to make some more interesting songs like this |

Black Honey – All My Pride Lyrics

This song absolutely scorches with anger and resentment but it's still sexy AF. Burning resentment for a fuckbuddy - but aimed inwards as well. Like a resentment shotgun that sprays the entire room. |

Cub Sport – Come On Mess Me Up Lyrics
|
"I fell in love with avoiding problems
And that was the problem"
How in order to really feel fulfillment in a relationship you must give yourself completely to someone. They can mess you up but they may end up becoming the other half of you in the end. |

The Jungle Giants – She's a Riot Lyrics

"She’s well-known to police
'Cause she looks like a riot"
Those are some DAMN LINES!! I feel that. I've felt that. It's like nothing else matters if you will stay my girl. |

This is a beautiful song - I'm glad they used it for My Little Pony so more kids can hear it and internalize it's hard but amazing message. |

Alex Lahey – You Don't Think You Like People Like Me Lyrics
| 6 years ago
|
About a person who is having a one-sided relationship with someone who does not truly value their companionship. It's like,"You can take me for tacos and brunch at Guadalajara Grill and dedicate a mariachi song to me & then take me to your house and do me dirty but you won't present me as your girlfriend to your family and friends!?" I love it's searing indictment of those who think they are too good for their fuck buddies. |

Crybaby – When the Lights Go Out Lyrics

I feel that the interpretation of this beautiful song has been channeled for me by it's amazing use in the formidable movie "Colossal". It has a dark, earnest feel that enhances the movie's conclusion, as musical choices in film are supposed to! Enhance a movie scene, I mean. I hate when the use of pop songs are JUST to get sales and placed by the label JUST to push a film's marketing for no natural reason. |

Priest – The Game Lyrics

"If that's not enough we'll always have tonight" - I effin' love this line. It's a general line but we can all make it personal. The magic of music. |

Ivan and Alyosha – Running for Cover Lyrics
| 6 years ago
|
"If I could see the garden place
Before the fall, would things have changed?
I wasn't there and neither were you
But I take the blame as you should too, my friend"
I love this passage how it sums up the sentiment of the song - how human it is to fuck up. Yet we all must stop running away from our mistakes and face them - but hopefully not on our own. |

Dwntwn – Pioneer Square Lyrics

I love how specific the lyrics are (and the title even more importantly since it is never mentioned in the song). And also how we have all felt this way about a place because of a person. |

Great song - gotta rock some self-loathing funk. Sounds like a cross between a Kings of Leon and My Chemical Romance song. Love the video. |
