Actually, I read somewhere what happened was that Britt Daniel (lead) was staying in this appartment in Connecticut where he goes when he needs to write a lotta songs. Anyway, it was just him and his multitrack and he needed a drum beat for this song and so he just beatboxed it...then he ended up liking it and put it in the final recording. Great song... |

I think you can take a lot of what this song is about just from listening to it (without analyzing the lyrics)...I totally agree with happy nobody on this one, it puts you in a great mood. I put it on a lot of my playlists for that reason.... |

Actually it's "16 Military Wives" according to their site, but whatever...Cool song. Reminds me of classic Decemberists mixed with a little bit of Belle and Sebastian and a lot of New Pornographers. |

This is an awesome song. I love Ted Leo and The Pharmacists. What I love about this song is as the verse "Now me and Jodie spent a lot of our time..." the song just starts building up to it's full point. So great. The only bad thing is that soon after it breaks open like that, it ends :( . Still, a great song. |

I was turned onto Bright Eyes by my brother, who took me to one of their concerts (excellent). They played this song which I love. The neat thing I find about the recorded version of this song is that it seems to go from lo-fi sounding in the beginning to un lo-fi sounding in the end. Kind of insteresting. |

This is really great song, on an awesome album, by an amazing band. I agree with PBCrunch in that it's great when he's describing meeting his ex-girlfriend at the party and when she says he is invited the whole song opens up. I also agree with kazbonaut as to what the song is about but I also think that it's saying that though having everything might not be good for us, we could cheer someone else up with that power. |
