Such a beautiful song, I automatically fell in love with it and cried when I saw it in Romeo and Juliet, where Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes saw each other through the fish tank, and then they met in the elevator..this song was playing in the background. I think of this song as when I knew someone who was 16 when they died in a car crash, and the guy's friends were in the car with him when he died, but survived the crash. This song just fits with them because they must feel awful that they were there and cause they were such good friends. I think this song is about losing someone you love, and then drinking it all away to forget it..."and for the million hours that we were, well i'll smile and remember it all, then i'll turn and go, while your story's completed mine's a long way from done"...it means for the short time that we were together, it wasn't long enough to be with you, so i'll just go on even though i don't want to, because your life is over, mine will suffer over you until it's done also.

Being this Nirvana's last song ever, I think it paints a vivid picture of kurts' seriousness of his depression. He obviously felt like he was a burden on someone, like he wasn't wanted. This song is really good, but it's so haunting and chilling, it's like you feel bad when you listen to it. I just wish the world could have know that he was going to commit suicide, i feel like we're to blame that this happened. I think for years with Kurt's music, his lyrics showed in many ways how depressed and suicidal he was, but also he would hide it in a way too. Just take some time, go back and read a few lyrics from his songs, and you'll see. |

I think Mariah wrote this about all the issues in her life, from being a bi-racial child growing up, getting teased, her parents divorcing and her family being split apart...the part about the dandelion, i think that represents her growing up and losing her innocence, like most of us do. The "patriarch" is her marriage to tommy mottola, and i heard that the boy and girl in the song are really tommy's kids that he already had from a previous marriage. So she's saying that she grew close to them and loved them, but she had to leave because she.."fled to save my sanity". The best part in the song is the end.."and i missed alotta life, but i'll recover, though i know you really like to see me suffer, still i wish that you and i could forgive each other, cause i miss you valentine, and really loved you..." I find this song so true and courageous of mariah, she took very personal things from her life and shared it with her fans and the world. I love all her music and find her to be one of the greatest artists ever. |

This song has deep meaning, it says so much in the lyrics even though they're repeating the same words for like 5 minutes. I really treasure this song, and hold it close to my heart for my first love. It reminds me of him everytime I hear it. I think it means that because you've been suffering so long with something that you finally just give up (or that's what you want others to think), you just want to do or say anything to stop that pain you feel..it's like a bittersweet song, because it looks like such a "strong, i'm getting over this person" type of lyrics, but really i think it goes deeper into where you're really not ok, you will pretend to "flow" with everything, and "let go", but still it hurts and always will hurt with remembering the memory of your love. You tell yourself and others that you're over it and you're stronger than it, but the truth is that really you're not. |
