if some ppl say that Dave is a sell out then let them think that. DMB still went platinum and all that junk with Under the table and dreaming, crash, and before these crowded streets. So to say that DMB made Everyday to sell more albums is a bit far fetched.
DMB says that out of all their albums, they like Everyday the most. God forbid someone changes their music!
I like what Daves Sugar Momma said.... "Live DMB, Love DMB, and Support DMB all the way." But sometimes we need to sit back and realize that Dave is a human being like the rest of us. |

I rememer the first time I heared this song.... I bought From Chaos and was listening to it in my car. I was thinking, ehhh the CD's ok, nothing special, definitly not 311's best. Then "Amber" came on and I was like whoa, this is badass. It inspired me to do a painting about all these ppl dancing around with big colorful aura's around them. "Amber" is such an awesome song.... just wish they did'nt release it. ehh the music business! |

I am an artist, and when I hear the lyrics and think of the title "A Certain Shade Of Green" the immediate meaning that pops up in my head is getting the right shade of a color. Many ppl are profectionist and must wait their whole lives for things to be just so. Being a painter, I know how it is to waste a bunch of time getting a certain color. It's probaly not what Boyd was thinking when he wrote the song, but its what I get. All of you guy's song meanings are really intresting, I think they are all very valid for this song. Rock on!! |

It seems to me that this is one of thoes songs that has multiple meanings, it just depends on how you take it. What I see is that when we are young, we are vibrant and invinsible. However, when we grow and check into reality it all changes. We suddenly are not as important or substantual. The line of "Once there was boy who had vibrant glow, but as it goes, someone took it from him." I think the someone is society as a whole. Society subliminally states that conformity is the key, and the boy in the song gets sucked into the rules of society.
And the part at the end with the rain is so cool! I just love it! |

whenever I hear this super song I think of the music video, which I think is one of the most brilliant music videos ever made. All the people stuck in traffic and thinking about the stressful events that drape their everyday lives, then all the sudden its like the light of importance went off and all the people got out of their cars and started walking through the traffic. It goes to show that in life there will always be problems, but in the end eveythings ok. |
