i think its partly about how there are so many stupid laws directed at teens, they are pointless and will have nothing to do with the way we turn out. for example, they might change driving laws in saskatchewan so that teens cant drive at night, blah blah blah... and even the legal age to buy cigarettes. sure, they may kill you, but they focus way too much on things like this, and not enough on the real issues teens face. thats why we're so "FUCKED UP." |

and as for writing songs about dogs and grandpas... no, thats not just to appeal tot he younger audience. have any of you ever heard them speak? they are very immature themselves, that shows in their music. which is fine, because they throw some personality into it. and as for being 'over produced' well i think its not that bad, sum 41's new version of what we're all about is about as bad as it gets. im not trying to advert you from insulting blink, but merely comparing the two. if you've heard 'waht we're all about' you should not complain about blink 182's new music. now thats just terrible... |

anyhoo i heard it was about going on tour and success and what not but yeh, part of that doesnt make sense to me but it kind of does...'we always thought this could never happen u see' 'that is so hard' so yeh it could be about how they didnt think anything big would happen and it did and how its hard but they have to just try... but i cant remember if i heard it from a reliable source or not, probably not. so yeh.
but u know what u can look at it however u want to... a lot of artists like that people do that. this song seems to me like there is no particular message, but he did have a reason for writing it, but its one of those songs where its intended for everyone. im sure no matter what way u look at this song, someone can relate to it in one of those ways... i could look at this one at many different angles...
