This song has everything about 'epic song' written all over it. Parts of City of the Damned remind me of 'Aqualung', the piano reminds me of 'November Rain', 'I Don't Care' gives off a Queen type vibe. All these great classics merged into one punk song - incredible. |

"ruse of metacarpi / caveat emptor to all that enter here" is referring to suicide decision, the movement of the hand (metacarpal is the bone in your fingers) and caveat emptor is latin for buyer beware. basically, beware about suicide. |

well of course it flows into inertiatic, they were originally one song but universal made them split them up to get more tracks on the album.
"gestating with all the other rats" refers to how he shot up rat poison. its essentially just before he enters his coma/delirium type state in inertiatic. |

Where do you think the opening sound recording is from? From the TV show :P I own the DVD, its a great show, very odd. Patrick Mooghan (the star) plays Number 6, and the song is simply about his own freewill, as seen in the show. |

I always thought of it as the "war" and competition between bands in the hard rock genre (korn's style). Jon is talking about how they compete but they still try and deliver the same thing. The whole part about taking the stage and remember why they play is a direct reference. |
