The Velvet Underground – I'm Set Free Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This is a great song. I feel like the thing here setting Lou free is Heroin, or whatever drug he was using at the time. "I'm set free to find a new illusion" great line. |

I have to agree with Rich M on this one. It seems to be that friendship in this song, not sex, or an afair. Beautiful, melodic song, and as with most of Lou reads songs, the real/full/total meanings are only known to him. I love it. |

Most people, even some VU fans either dont know, or dont appreciate this song. This song is probably VU/Lou Reeds best song in my opinion. Truthful. Dark. Detailed. "Closing in on death" It describes Heroin as going to the brink. The structure of the song is someone coming up and down from Heroin, and it shows the dark trap the person is in. Great, great song. |

This is a great song. Really catchy. Lou Reed is perhaps the only person who knows what all the parts to this song means, and maybe it doesnt matter. This song, on Loaded, shows VU's obvious progression towards complete Lou Reed control. This song could have easily been in his solo career, and many think it is. Thanks Lou |

Incredible song. Jerry really helps bring the lyrics to life. Long live the king. "There is a road, no simple highway Between the dawn and the dark of night And if you go no one may follow That path is for your steps alone" This part of the song is incredible; the whole song gives a freedom of choice, walk your own path, existentialist kind of feel, and I think this part is one of the most interesting and accurate interpritations of life in a lyric form. Genius. |
Grateful Dead – Dire Wolf Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I love this song. It has the feeling of- "the boys sing 'round the fire." Dont know why, but that line really shows the feeling of the song. |
Grateful Dead – Box Of Rain Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"Believe it if you need it, if you don't just pass it on Sun and shower - Wind and rain - in and out the window like a moth before a flame" Great lyrics. Great song. One of my favorites. It's one of those songs you can just listen to with your eyes closed, singing, and feeling like the song brings so much clarity without really knowing what it means. |
