I agree that it's the best song on the CD, but I feel like this is more than a breakup song...it's almost like he's saying "sucks to be you" to the girl even though he's left alone. |

I love this song. I think a guy has just been beating himself up and constantly convincing himself to not like this girl. All his stupid reasons for shutting her out are defensive. And this song is about the last one crumbling, and him being ready to be open to the idea of liking her. |

I thought it ws more about a couple that had to go through an uphill battle to hook up, and that's why they're savoring the moment, seeing the light, etc. Like past relationships were the things falling down, the shades they have to rip apart to see the light. |

I totally agree with GetUpKid211. I'd add
"And when the time we have now ends"
The guy feels like he shouldn't wait forever, what if something happens, but
"When the big hand goes round again"
Inevitably he's still holding on to his feelings, scared of how she'll react
Then again, I totally understand the breakup scenario. It's funny how J.E.W. songs can take on totally different meanings depending on my mood when I listen to them. |
