Disillusion – The Sleep Of Restless Hours Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Now this is how you finish an album. Absolutely phenomenal. |
A Silver Mt. Zion – The Triumph of Our Tired Eyes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Correct lyrics, from the official site, www.tra-la-la-band.com... Sisters and Brothers, We have surely lost our way. In strip malls full of cancer, And a chemical rain. Lover, sweet lover, Please don't discipline your hands. Just kiss me in the morning, In your dirtiest pants. We will find our way. We will find our way. There is beauty in this land, But I don't often see it. There is beauty in this land, But I don't often feel it. Pimples are flowers, Musicians are cowards! Let's argue in the kitchen, For hours and hours. Tomorrow is a travesty, Tomorrow should be ours. Musicians are cowards! Musicians are cowards! Musicians are cowards! Musicians are cowards! Musicians are cowards! Musicians are cowards! Musicians are cowards! Musicians are cowards! The soldiers with their specialists, And the pigs with their guns cannot stop, The lost ones and the desparate ones and the driven ones. The soldiers with their cigarettes, And the police with their guns cannot stop, The lonesome ones and the desparate ones and the smart ones. So come on friends, To the barricades again. So come on friends, To the barricades again. So come on friends, To the barricades again. So come on friends, To the barricades again. We will find our way, We will find our way. |
Sigur Rós – Hafssól Lyrics | 20 years ago |
The live version of this is much, much better. It's been pretty much re-invented. Sigur Rós said they wanted to record this new version of the song for their next album... |
Dream Theater – You Not Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is a bit too "pop" like... of course, for a rock song. Dream Theater really should've kept this a b-side I think... they would have been much better off with something like Eve. It's kinda catchy though... but not for Dream Theater fans. Of course, they know this already :P |
Dream Theater – Vacant Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is beautiful. It can be a very general song (about losing someone or something similar), but specifically these lyrics seem to be about a person slowly losing their partner/family member to Alzheimer's... excellent lyrics by JLB, though as far as I know it's not about a personal experience... |
Dream Theater – As I Am Lyrics | 20 years ago |
It's ironic how when this album came out, people were saying "Dream Theater should have done this album differently, should be less heavy, less keyboards, better solos, better songwriting, blah blah blah" when this song is exactly about those kind of people :P |
Dream Theater – New Millennium Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Um, it's probably not the meaning of the song, but the first thing that comes into my head was all the hype about the blatantly bullshit Y2K bug thing. |
Avril Lavigne – Sk8er Boi Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I NEED SCISSORS! 61! |
Tool – Ticks and Leeches Lyrics | 21 years ago |
j0verule, aren't you the person who flooded the "There There" page? |
Nine Inch Nails – Hurt Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I'm stuck between 2 - I can't decide whether this song is about his contemplation (the screaming in the back representing 'voices in his head') and Hurt is his suicide (the loud noise at the end being the suicide) or what Kdog said. I used to think it was the latter, but now that I think of it, when Hurt has the loud band at the end, then it does sort of fit into the album name's description -"The Downward Spiral". Basically saying the story is of someone going constantly down and down until he hits the very bottom - if Hurt was about being in limbo, then it would go below even the bottom of the spiral, if you see what I mean. So it would make more sense if the other one was true... |

The Notwist – Consequence Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Oops, sorry - I meant to post that on the Pick Up The Phone page. |
The Notwist – One with the Freaks Lyrics | 21 years ago |
And even if there IS an official meaning, there's no reason whatsoever that you shouldn't have a different interpretation to the song writer's 'official meaning'. |
Muse – Stockholm Syndrome Lyrics | 21 years ago |
New Muse single! Damn, I love this song SO much. If you want to hear it, get a leak on a P2P program (don't get a file with 'absolution' in it, it's fake) or listen to Radio 1. This song is so damn good though... |
The Notwist – Propellor 9 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
See 'Formiga' for my comment. |
The Notwist – Scoop Lyrics | 21 years ago |
See 'Formiga' for my comment. |
The Notwist – Formiga Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I added this and the 2 other bonus tracks on the US version of Neon Golden. I've never heard any of The Notwist's electronica before, until now... you should REALLY try out the 3 tracks (Formiga, Scoop, Propellor 9). They're absolutely lovely. Very texturey, too, like the rest of the album. Great stuff, I didn't think they'd be that good, but wow, I was pleasantly surprised. Try them out! |
Radiohead – There There. (The Boney King of Nowhere.) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Heheheh, nice... this flooder knows what he's doing 8-) |
Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Opinions are like assholes - they smell of shit. |
Nine Inch Nails – Ripe (With Decay) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Nine Inch Nails know how to make an absolute killer instrumental. |
The Notwist – Pilot Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Good interpretation! |
Sigur Rós – Ágætis Byrjun Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I thought Ágætis Byrjun translated into 'An alright start'? |
The Notwist – Consequence Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Have you seen the video? It's a must-see. |
Sigur Rós – Flugufrelsarinn Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This, Svefn-g-englar or Viorar vel til loftarasa? Hard choice... amazing song. |
Sigur Rós – Untitled 8 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This song is unlike all other Sigur Ros songs, but they still managed to pull off a very hard hitting song, one of the best ending tracks to an album I've ever heard. |
The Notwist – Solitaire Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Brilliant; like every other song on the album. |
Sigur Rós – Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I find it impossible to decide which track on Ågaetis Byrjun is the best, but this is certainly a highlight. Excellent video, too. |
Nine Inch Nails – La Mer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
My personal favourite track on The Fragile (left), if not on The Fragile altogether. Piano, percussion and bass has never made a better combination :) |
Gary Jules – Mad World (Tears for Fears cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I saw Donnie Darko 2 days ago for the first time... wow. Absolutely astounding. The ending was so 'hard-hitting', the effect multiplied several times from this song. It fit the scene perfectly. After the film, I couldn't stop thinking about it... thinking about Donnie, and it still gets me down. Whenever I think of the ending, I automatically think of this song. Amazing. Gah, I have to see it again now... |
Nine Inch Nails – The Becoming Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Of course, Maynard James Keenan will always be above everyone else... ;) But yes, Trent is slowly making it to 'God' status for me too. |
Deftones – Pink Maggit Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This, or Passenger... tough decision. |
The Notwist – One Step Inside Doesn't Mean You Understand Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I think he's getting his own back on someone selfish who can't see from another person's point of view. Though I'm probably wrong... One of the best openers for an album I've ever heard. |
The Notwist – Pick Up the Phone Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I think "trouble that we've come to know will stay with us" means that obviously later on in time, whatever's been messed up in the relationship isn't going to go away. They may be able to get on as friends after, but it's never going to shake off and they know it. immi: Your chances of finding a The Notwist CD in AUS which isn't Neon Golden is more or less 0. Neon Golden, however, shouldn't be too much of a problem. Try the big, major CD shops or a site that can deliver overseas. |
The Notwist – Pilot Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Fantastic song, and a fantastic video to go with it. I think it's about having something of your own (in this example, your own railway set) to make you feel like you're in control. Like, how you can't do it properly because you are too shy, so doing this is the next best thing. Pretty anti-social, really. |
The Notwist – Off the Rails Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Being abandoned somewhere so all you can do is spectate? |
The Notwist – Neon Golden Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Weakest track on the album for me, but still great. Goes to show how good this album actually is. My favourite album from last year, definitely. Hard to tell the meaning... perhaps it's about being unappreciated? |
Sigur Rós – Hún Jörð Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I think the English translation is off on a couple of lines. ;) I think the lyrics need no explanation. |
Sigur Rós – Untitled 3 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Very simple, but still devine to listen to. Especially in the bath... haha. |
Sigur Rós – Untitled 1 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Absolutely amazing. Especially the last 2 minutes. Best track on ( )? Probably. |
Sigur Rós – Untitled 8 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Great finale. |
Dream Theater – A Change of Seasons Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Mine too. |
The Notwist – Pick Up the Phone Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Why has nobody else commented on this masterpiece yet? |
The Notwist – Consequence Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Yeah, I agree. |
Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics | 21 years ago |
The use of strings in the second half work really well together with the rest of the music. I believe the meaning of the song has been explained well already. |
Led Zeppelin – Achilles Last Stand Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This song is an epic. It makes you think "wow, this is what rock is all about." Kinda. You know what I mean, heh. Just amazing. |
Radiohead – A Wolf at the Door (It Girl. Rag Doll) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
No, it's called 'Wolf At The Door'. Amazing song - looks primarily about a politician, but it could be about an insane landlord he once had, or something... |
Tool – Aenema Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This is a lot like Do The Evolution, but coming from a different angle. Eddie says we're going to inevitably reach apocolypse; Maynard says he hopes that all this stuff will just go away because it's (the media in general) is messing up people's minds and it's like they're almost being brainwashed. What's the best solution? Total destruction, of course! I agree with him, and he couldn't have made the lyrics any better. |
Pearl Jam – Do the Evolution Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This is a fantastic video and says a lot. It's true; our race (the human race) is incapable of rational thought as a whole, and we're just fucking up this perfectly good planet? Why so? Irrationality, as said before. I hope that someday something drastic happens and the human race get wiped out - it'll do the planet a lot of good. |
Tool – Opiate Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Fred Durst = stupid. |
Limp Bizkit – Opiate (Tool cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
LOL! Yeah, I heard this a while ago. It is the worst cover ever (yes, worse than Avril's version of Chop Suey). Fred Durst is indeed a Bible basher, so he obviously doesn't have a clue what the song is about. The Tool version is an absolutely amazing song. Fred Durst is stupid. Also, nice slice of wit there MountainJew. :D I love Marx's quote there, it's so damn true. WORST COVER EVER. |
